The problem is most people now look at the Solicitors Property Centres automatically and don't really bother with Rightmove so i would have thought that was detrimental..... ?!
I guess it depends which part of Scotland you are in. In Lanarkshire/Glasgow Rightmove is the quickest and most efficient I would say.Debt Free thanks to MSE!!!! £15,000 debt became £0 thanks to some hard work and all you lovely people!0 -

I know Edinburgh does make use of Rightmove more but that's more that their ESPC site is pants....
I think the further North you are the more you use the Spc's...0 -
After 9weeks on the market with zero viewings, we have changed EA's.
New EA comes on Monday to take pics etc. Hope new EA can sell it!Squish0 -
Everyone here talks of rightmove - does anyone's EA use findaproperty.com??
Until we went on the market that was the only property website I used - had never heard of rightmove. If you are on it, you can see what houses people have looked at in the last 7 days that have also viewed your property. It gives quite a good insight & shows what the competition is as far as the buyers are concerned.0 -
Well the latest stage in our saga. The buyers came today for the visit they insisted on making, oherwise they would not exchange, all they did do was measure up for a few curtains! Why all the drama of refusing to exchange unless they could come. Sigh.
We are suppoesed to have exchanged today, but surprise, surprise, I have heard nothing from my solicitor so I do not know. To be honest I am now totally exhausted. I think all the anger and frustration of the past 3 months have fizzled out as it seems that this might actually happen and I just feel drained. I am going to have a very large glass of wine, well maybe several large glasses. We are having an Indian takeaway as I am too knackered to cook and we hope it will be a celebratory meal.
The EA just phoned when I was typing this. We have not exchanged.... The buyers' solicitor found some problem with their house so their buyer could not exchange. Why did he not find that out in the past 13 weeks?
More wine I think.0 -
but we still haven't exchanged so I hope it isn't tempting providence!
The people at the bottom of the chain are awaiting an answer to a "straitforward" question to the council regarding the freehold of the property our buyers are selling to them. I am not best pleased as such things should have been sorted much earlier on in my opinion. I don't know much about our buyers except that they live in London currently, maybe in an ex council flat or something.
Anyway, I am keeping everything crossed for progress this week.0 -
Does anyone have an answer to this part of my recent post, please?fozzylozzy wrote: »Out of interest and sheer nosiness as we are on with HN, did it take long to get viewers and how long did it take until you got an offer?…I'm interested in this too as was considering going with HN or another online agent when we get rid of this lot.
On the market early July 2009. Number of viewers: Jul 8, Aug 0, Sep 3, Oct 2, Nov 6, Dec 1, Jan 2, Feb 3, Mar 3*, Apr 4, May 4, Jun 4, Jul 2. Interesting when you compare the two July figures?
So, pretty much one viewer per week on average. If I had to guess at time-wasters I’d say at least 50% fell into that category. Probably more like 75%.
The March asterisk indicates that the offerer/buyer currently proceeding first appeared then as an unproceedable viewer. We’ve not restricted viewings to proceedables. You should check if your EA rejects unproceedables without asking you.
I suspect I have never hoovered so much in my whole life, but foolishly failed to keep records prior to putting the house on the market. hth0 -
Hi all, hope everyone is well. Been lurking as not really much to report but just wanted to join in with the 'not exchanged yet' peeps. I've been chasing my EA and solicitor a couple of times every week about exchanging soon. It was meant to be a few weeks ago but is just dragging. I hate not know why and when, and find myself just stupidly refreshing the email screen/checking the phone to see if any news comes up. It is frustrating as hell. I am neither here nor there at the mo. Most of our stuff is packed, and we were aiming for completion mid-end Aug, and most certainly before the first week of Sept, as we're moving to a new city 45 mins away, therefore new schools, new everything. We have to get settled in, new uniforms to sort out with local suppliers, sussing out best routes to the schools (DD will walk, and DS will be provided transport as it's over 3 miles). This is just the tiny things that I have on top of a list of a million other things...but it's all just about waiting...yaaawwwnnn.
Part of me thinks as soon as we've exchanged, like Vet8 we'll be given only say a week to complete or something silly, when the idea was we'd exchange asap, then leave at least a couple of weeks in between to move our stuff out to the new place etc etc. At this rate there will be no time avail in between.
Bah humbug and rant over lol!
