Viewer from yesterday liked my property size/garden, but is erring towards another. It is 'early days' as I'm told by my EA, but I think that's the technical term for a 'no-go' lol!

On the buying side, a property has caught my eye in an area which I hadn't initially thought of. Property is massive, vacant and has been on the market for several months...so there's a bit of food for thought there. Also, a friend of ours has suggested to me about seriously thinking about buying my brother's BTL in the same area. I had asked him before I viewed any properties 6 mths ago, but at that time my bro wasn't really looking to sell. Now his tenants seem to be doing a runner, so I will ask him the q again. The property is smaller than the ones I'm looking at (4 beds) this is 3-bed, but with potential for a massive extension at the back and upwards.

Would make sense if it worked out, it's in the perfect location, and apart from one room less (which we can live with for now) it ticks all the boxes, and would be far less hassle than buying from someone else. Will have a ponder and chew bro's ear over it :)

Think it's time for me to join here! Been on the market over a year, had only three viewings, two of which were investors looking to break the house up and use it as bedsits. No feedback from those two as the ea couldnt get hold of them and they wouldn't return their calls. The feedback we did get from the people who viewed (2 couples looking to share the house) was 'that we were having a laugh putting our house on the market, and that it is big enough and we dont need to move!' - The cheek!

It's a 3 year old 3 storey townhouse with a garage and a drive and other properties on the estate don't seem to be shifting either. We've seen properties we fancy come and go and reduced our price by £10k. There's 5k left for bargaining with but we won't be able to go any lower otherwise it'll affect our deposit. Effectively we've 'lost' (not made as much as was predicted) - Estimate 125k for our last house, sold for 92 and this one, 164950 - now reduced to 149950. With being on the market for so long and nothing happening, as well as getting married in October I feel like taking it off the market and waiting to try again when things perk up. When....!

Welcome KP and Pr1nc3ss, if you have had a nose at the thread you will see that we're all sharing similar trials and tribulations in the sale of our houses, so there's ups and downs all the time :)

MB - I didn't know you were getting married in 17 days (so sorry my brain is usually switched off, just focused on your sig!!! :p) omg, how exciting! Good luck with that!

Completion is on Monday 7th June. I am not in the slightest bit stressed about the fact I will be out of the house all day for 6 days between now and then and DH is working 160 miles away oh no I won't :rotfl:

Feels a little more real now...
