No viewings after 6 weeks. So had the boss lady from the EA round yesterday. She re-took the pictures & rehashed the write-up. I must say it looks a lot better now on their web site.

If we still don't attract any viewings I'll give up.

We got an offer. Yikes. Only our fourth viewer, and its still a little bit low (Asking price - 8%, then -5.5%, and tomorrow is another day) Trouble is, the house we liked has sold and there's nowhere else within our price range that I even really want to look at. I don't know what to do now...should I start thinking about renting? Or would I be stupid to get off the property ladder right now - even for 12 months? Aaargh...all this time you wait for this to happen, and now its happened, I've lost my nerve.

Wow sundin congrats on your offer...I'd say even if you have to rent for a while it'd be worth still selling if you want to, and that way you become a chain-free buyer for when the right house comes along?

Heard from estate agent today and buyers want to complete in 6 weeks. We were hoping for longer due to children and schools and things but are thinking sooner could be good. Valuation is happening on Friday and buyers coming round to do measuring on Saturday.

I am off to York to investigate more schools and houses - really hope I can find somewhere that ticks all the boxes. Husband's job here finishes on Friday and new one in York starts on 4th May - luckily he has accomodation paid there for a while which makes it a bit easier.

Really hope valuation is OK but think we should be all right.

Good luck with everything and happy hunting :)

House has been on since last Wednesday and have my 1st viewing today, and one on Saturday morning.

Cant do no more to the house now apart from keeping our fingers crossed.

Seen the new home we like, chain free too so would love for something to come of these 2 viewings....

  • Hi all, wow its amazing the number of people struggling to sell thier house. I suppose its a sign of the times were in at the moment.

I live in a 3 bed semi in Chesterfield, i have a stepdaughter and ive just had a new baby girl born (5 months ago) my partner and i are talking about having another baby very soon (argh! i must be a glutton heh).

Obviously when another baby comes along we will need to upgrade house, to be honest our third bedroom is really only a box room and cant be counted as a bedroom. Were using that as a nursery at the moment.

So we have been looking at 4 bedroom houses in the Chesterfield areas but there doesnt seem to be a lot about which seem to suit our needs.

So if anyone is looking to sell a 4 bedroom in the Chesterfield area then please feel free to get in touch. Were not in a chain as i would add our current home to my small portfolio and rent it out easily.

I wish you all good luck with your house sales wherever you may be!

    Regards,
    Simon.

I think you are probably right. Just got to convince OH of this fact. He thinks renting is a big step down, and he's concerned also that house prices may decide to go through the roof in the few months we are 'off ladder'! I think he'd like to turn the offer down altogether - or at least make it subject to our finding somewhere else (its at 96.8% of asking price as of today, and they are coming round for another viewing tomorrow).

I'm just really nervous - we are looking for a five bed with a garden, and to get it in the location we want it'll probaby have to be a 'fixer-upper'. There aren't too many of them around - so I don't want to accept the offer subject to us buying somewhere else and ending up pressured into buying somewhere I'm not 100% about.

Hmmmmm! No viewings in the 6 weeks we've been "up for sale" but since the EAs re-hash of our property description & pics, etc. yesterday, & my last posting at 10am today, we now have 3 lined up.

1st one today at 5.45pm, one tomorrow at 1.30pm & one on Saturday at 4.30pm.

Now I would like all of you wonderful posters to collectively think of us during said times & have the word BUY BUY BUY in your minds.:rotfl:

Let's hope I can get away from this "blackcurrant" icon I've become attached to. Good luck everyone for this weekend.

Wow! Best of luck, our description seemed to have been rehashed the other day but it made no difference.
