Kymie, did you actually put in an application for your 3-year-old? I am on the Admissions Commttee at my son's school and our rule is that if we receive an application by the due date (Oct. 23rd in our case) but then receive notification of a change of address (or proof of exchange) we use the new address as the relevant one. The only snag is that the new address/proof of exchange must be received before the governors sit to consider applications. Obviously all schools have different rules but it might be worth checking this with the school.
Even if he/she doesn't get in and has to go on the waiting list, will he/she not be top of the waiting list due to having sibling(s)? If that is the case there is a good chance of getting a place due to someone not accepting the place they were offered. It is definitely worth chasing this up.
Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.

Today's the day... (or tomorrow... or possibly Wednesday...).

Have to take our cat to a friend's house tonight, just in case the move happens.

Also, my husband would like me to set the record straight. In a previous post I implied that he's not very strong (only a little bit stronger than me). I'd like to make it clear that he's quite a bit stronger than me and can perform manly jar-opening and box-lifting tasks with ease. There, manhood restored. :D
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • We accepted an offer on our property on the 8th Dec, but the buyers have still not supplied our EA with their solicitors details! I'm getting anxious now that things are slowing down before we've even started. My EA have chased them again today, so fingers crossed.
Anyone else in a similar boat? I thought things would move much more quickly than this!

That sounds like a complete time waster to me. Have they arranged a survey?

I hope you haven’t taken it off the market at their request.

Aaah… But does he change nappies and clean the toilets? :)

No nappies to change in this house, fortunately. He doesn't clean the toilet, but then he's working at the moment and I'm not so we're in a "working man/housewife" situation. Yet another reason to get this move out of the way so we can get on with our lives.

With no activity and no explanation I think you should get it straight back on the market!

Sigh... our buyer's money isn't in place yet. It only got back to his bank today and they can't receive and send out money on the same day. It's getting sent out tomorrow, with the aim to exchange and complete tomorrow, too. It's a lot to fall into place at the last minute, but on the plus side all parties (solicitors, EAs etc...) have been communicating with each other today. Even the useless solicitors have said they can do it tomorrow. They were the ones I was most worried about because our solicitor has a lot of trouble even getting them on the phone. Our solicitors were supposed to close on Friday, but have had so many cases running over into this week that they've had to come in.

So we're packing up this evening and are going to start loading the van at 8:30am tomorrow without an exchange in place _pale_ .

The worst that can happen now is that you’ll have a ratty offerer complaining it’s back on the market when ‘they are buying it’. Just tell ‘em that buying is when you exchange contracts, offering contains everything that fluffy white clouds contain. Well, actually, slightly less.

If they were serious, they’ll get on with it. When you come off the market for them, an offerer puts their slippers on and their feet up. Good luck! :)
