funny, after a few weeks of nothing, two viewers were booked in for tomorrow, however today our new dreams bed turned up (superking) and wouldnt get up the stairs so I have had to cancel them for a week awaiting collection. I didnt want my viewers to note that nothing goes up my stairs, not even a single divan0

well I spoke to my would be private buyers last night. they are coming to see me Sunday afternoon for a chat  fingers crossed for that.
Today i have the cash buyer coming round with her parents and the agent has just called with 2 viewings for tomorrow.
I hope that this gives hope for everyone else waiting for viewings/buyers at this time.0 -
Our buyer still wants to complete by 18th, we're 2 weeks on from accepting the offer and her solicitor isn't responding to ours. Their solicitor even tried to deny our solicitor had sent them any documents (they had had them for 10 days)!! The buyer is apparently on the phone to them constantly, but stll no sign of any contratcs.
Our solicitor still seems to think it's possible to complete on 18th, but it makes it a nightmare for us trying to book removals etc. as nothing is confirmed. Christmas is non existent for us this year.....0 -

It's not the dear ladies of New King Street is it? Nice people, but organisation & speed isn't a strong point!0 -
Davesnave, No, it is not someone local. But whoever they are certainly don't seem to be providing a good service!0

Phone just rang - the viewer who cancelled on the 5th of November(day I was admitted to hospital so just as well) now wants to come round and see the house in daylight.
DD(20) is home from uni and has been tidying anyway this morning suggested he comes round at 3 this afternoon while house is still tidy.
Her 15 year old sister can leave a trail of devastation, confusion and muddle by the time she has been home for 5 minutes (not joking here!)
Fingers crossed but not expecting anything - just want to get things over with.
Just about to get up and dressed but finishing a cup of tea first while DDs and DH dash around."This site is addictive!"

Called my EA regarding the viewers from last week, have been told that viewers are not responding to any messages being left for them.
Looks like they used my flat as a "show home" as the other flat they were looking at is under offer; I'm not one to believe in coincidences...

This selling thing is a load of !!!!!! isn't it. I have spent the day shaking, narrowly avoiding being physically sick and rushing to the loo every few minutes. Why? Because the weird 'cash buyer' is not going to proceed either. Seemingly she would want to extend and since she is starting a new job, does not want the hassle of it.
In a way I'm glad because she gave me the impression of not being all that reliable, I wouldn't have been confident that when push comes to shove, that she would have followed it through. Even so, it's not stopped me from worrying myself half to death.
I'm going to the Dr's tomorrow for some happy pills - seriously.
So I can empathise with everyone else on here and hope that someone is having a better time of it than me.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Oh Spirit, I know how hard it is - my family has been split up for over a year waiting for the house to sell - my son has turned into a young adult from a child, and hubby has realised how much he relied on me
(so I hope to get spoilt a bit when we finally all get back together) but you cant let it make you ill! Focus on the positives, your family, your health or (as Paul Daniels said on twitter recently)just being thankful you woke up!

Spirit, that sounds terrible and hope you're feeling better today.
I think the best thing to do (and I know it's difficult, but i'm doing it myself) is to let it go for now and regroup after Christmas. I'm fairly desperate to get this thing over and done with, but for the past 7 days I've noticeably slowed down and am barely bothering with Rightmove. I think people hunker down for Christmas so even people interested in your place might have "switched off" for a few weeks.
Maybe in the New Year your other interested buyer will reappear - did the EA give you any idea why they'd backed off?
If you think the surveyor undervalued your place, then when things perk up in the New Year you might get an offer from someone who uses a local valuer and all is back on an even keel.
I had a period a few months ago of feeling really down about all this kind of thing, but I've kind of learned how to start switching off. I've seen lovely houses which have been "lost" for any number of reasons, leaving me really gutted and upset. And then, lo and behold, I see another one which I get really attached to. I can only assume that there's a house out there with our names written on the welcome mat and we'll find it soon.
Chin up!0
