blimey - solicitor says we may exchange today - and complete when I am on my holidays!!!
lots of organising to do... its all going a bit too quick now! (can't beleive I said that..)
    Good for you :T:T
    C'mon you Canaries!!
  • My viewer from weekend, advise the EA that they can't get the deposit together in order to make an offer. The EA is a bit ticked off that they hadn't sorted that out first.

So, we've returned to the only firm offer received which, at the time, was £30k lower than the asking price. Now that we've dropped the price by £20k, that offer doesn't look so bad. Especially as it should be a cash purchase!!

On the house we want; I found out on Saturday, that an offer the accepted on Friday :mad: However, their EA called me yesterday, and told me that it's only a tentative offer, and that buyer has a long chain below them. If we can get our buyer to stump up cash, we may still stand a chance.

so emmzi - did you exchange??
  • Finally accepted an offer today!

Had an offer a couple of days ago that was a little under my minimum, was just getting ready to accept after working out whether or not my finances could stretch to it, and then a different buyer came in and trumped it!

Hoping to hear back on the property we want on saturday, as to whether or not our offer will be acceptable to them.

    Very exciting times...

Good for you asajoseph. Hope to be in your position in the next couple of weeks - an offer that is! How many viewings did you have before you got the offer?
  • Must have been quite a few in the end - 20-25 at a guess.

I had an offer at the start of last week, but it was well below what I wanted, and they never increased it after I turned it down. I was on the market for 3 weeks at a price that was a bit too high, but all told I think it's taken me 6 weeks to get an acceptable offer.

I'm sellign a 1 bed in London though - quite a liquid market.

Been back on the market over a week now with no sign of any interest. Last time it went on we had about 4 viewings in the first week. Our house is in a very popular part of town and ideal for a first time buyer, but it's not looking good :-( V. annoyed that the EA wouldn't put us in the property paper this week. Looks like we'll be dropping the price :-(

That's a shame. Maybe it will do the trick though. It only takes one.

We don't mind dropping, as our house was valued higher than we expected and we will be making a profit no matter what. They also put it on for 5k higher than they valued it. I just would like to know that the EA has done everythng else possible to get some interest before we take this step. But it is the most sensible option - we will probably give it another week.
