If he doesn't think you want to check over an expensive purchase like a car then he's either naive or crooked. He should have a rating like every other ebayer.

We haven't found it through ebay which is why we can't see his details ... we don't know what his username is etc ... he just suggested we pay through ebay for the protection ...

He said that we pay ebay, they hold the money & after we recieve the car we have 14 days to either send it back (at his expense) or agree to it with ebay & then he gets his money??

I have just emailed him asking for more pictures, the registration number and whether we can collect it or not ... lets see his response ...

    Raini,

I think he wants you to pay via PayPal which is owned by Ebay. You would get the same protection as everyone else but if he immediately closes the account they can't get your money back for you.

Also Switzerland is not in EU so may be harder to try and use their legal system if you needed to as there are no cross border agreements as with other countries like Germany or France.

IMHO if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Is the potential of saving some money off a car enough to compensate you for the worry, sleepless nights, legal wrangles and fights with LB if it all goes wrong?

I hear you KJ & I agree ... it was a nice idea ... but as you say too good to be true ... well at least we realised before we did anything!! That would have been embarrassing to put on here!! :rotfl: Anywho I think LB is 99% convinced! Time for sleep now ... very tired ... saw Night at the Museum 2 tonight which was good but makes for a later night than I had hoped for!

Oh & 10 more things relisted on ebay ... 2 things sold ... think I should maybe SELL more rather than keep relisting it but ebay buyers don't always seem to want my [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasures!

Thanks Swinstie ... seems really obvious now!! LB has accepted it too this morning as dodgy car seller hasn't been in touch!

I've just had some ace news :D I'm getting a free night in a hotel!! It's not far from work & on sat 4th I've got an early shift & a late on sun 5th, so going to stay in the hotel then!! My colleague & I went to an open day at this hotel (they have recently done it up) & my colleague, who is brilliant, was saying that it would be really good to stay over & see how everything is & then we could maybe recommend to our delegates to stay here, so they offered us a complimentary night! :T:T

Now do I tell LB or do I surprise him? I'll need him to meet me at work & we'll be having dinner with my colleague & her other half who he doesn't know but LB is very good with new people ... and it's only about 20 miles from where we live so it's not really a night away & like I said I have to work. But that also makes it a bit exciting like we're stealing a night away!! This also means I won't be doing long days that weekend! But hay ho you don't get many freebies!! :D

So surprise or tell LB ...?
