I've never understood the cross match thing your blood isn't gonna change in terms of type in a couple of days, is it?
I couldn't use a bed either not while my legs still work!

Apparently the crossmatch must be done with fresh blood  it made no sense to me.

Going for walks around the hospital was also another thing I had to get the consultant to authorise.

oooh forgot to say, pampers have brought a new nappy out called simply dry which seems like a pampers economy pack really, in tesco theyre selling carry packs for £3.50 for 32 for size 3's, and pampers have just sent out £2.50 off a pack vouchers so i got 3 packs of 32 nappies for £1 each! and the nappys do seem ok. so far anyway - havent had a poop in them yet, and i dont think i'd like to use them at night cos they do seem a little bit on the thin side.

we bought these at tesco the other day because they were the same price as the own brand we normally buy...
i think they were £7.29 for 50...pampers economy! yay.
i had the same concerns as you they do look thin, but so far have had no leaks or accidents and he was filled them with wee and poo and worn them overnight
    i recommend!

they are in a very bright orange pack... you cant miss them!

Also helped prove my theory that doctors dont know everything.
    ...
When I was badly constipated I insisted on inserting my own suppository, it seemed like a constant battle to be able to do things the way I wanted to.
When I was admitted for hyperemesis the doctor wrote down on my notes that I was constipated. I'm glad they didn't try to do anything about it as I wasn't - there wasn't anything coming out because nothing stayed in for long enough to get to the other end.

I was a problem child also and an even bigger problem adult.

I dont believe in doing anything I dont want to do, While I was in hospital before Cliodhna was born (for 3 months), I refused the blood tests, urine tests, temperature checks, Glucose test and every other test except scans and hearbeat at every opportunity. I did them all for 2 weeks then said enough. The midwives said I was the worst patient ever :rotfl:One actually said If i was her child she would put me over her knee.

I refused to wear the TED stockings on the basis I went walking every other hour, I wouldn't take the claxine (sp) injections at night, and only allowed one ventlon in my veins when I was bleeding, when they told me I needed 2.

I refused to go to theatre for an em. CS on 4 occasions, telling doctors I knew my body better than they did. I had read up on placenta previa to the point I was able to tell them plenty about it.

    I just couldn't do as I was told :A

You sound like a girl after my own heart! I've only just agreed to constant monitoring during this labour as the consultant said it won't restrict my movement. (I know there's an increaseed chance of another c-section but I'm willing to risk it). My birth plan actually says that if at any point I find the monitoring getting in my way then I'll just take it off. When my MW read my birth plan she just smiled and said, "That's a big step for you to agree to the monitoring. Well done."

Any opinions on Lilypadz please? I've just remembered how much I loathed sleeping in a bra because of my leaky boobs and I think someone suggested these? I also hate the way breast pads can show through 'soft' nursing bras, so these could be the answer, but they are quite pricey to start with.

    TIA

Anyone had much luck "training" a baby at 11 months?

OH (and me but less so as I am at work) is pretty desperate to find a way to teach Elijah not to scream at top level whenever anything doesn't suit him - he always shouted and cried etc like any baby when put down unexpectedly, or given a boring toy or whatever; but his new phase the last couple weeks involves those horrific piercing screams which really are off the scale. When we used to say he screamed we didn't know what we were talking about...!

Thanks for the kind comments about our return trip ladies, I am by now a complete zombie at work after a 3 hour meeting with some Norwegians, while my wife is a zombie at home after making it to rhyme time and the pharmacy! It can only get better...!

Sorry so many other people seem to be having struggles with LOs just now! Maybe it's the phase of the moon or something :p

Sorry bruno (by the way are you prepared for the jokes when the film "bruno" opens 2mo?) when you post I get jealous of your OH because you are so supportive and actually have a clue what LO is doing! My OH barely remembers the boys birthdays nevermind how they feed, sleep etc.

Do you think it would be a good idea if I email EJ to let them kno i am actually BFing as I was preg when I applied?
