    that's the one thanks :)

did you find the pillowslip dresses?
Yes I did - thank you. They look lovely. Will have to search through the pillowcases and unearth the sewing machine. (But probably not till after I've finished sorting the house out/unpacking.)

I had something important to say 2 pages ago...

    Forgot it now...

Hi Mrs Moc, nice to see you :D

I had my 6 week post natal today... The Dr asked me how I was... I burst into tears... Think it's just hormones, I don't think it's anything serious... She told me to go back if I reached the point where I wasn't sleeping / eating / going out... Don't imagine it will get that bad... She asked me about contraception, I told her I wanted a coil... She told me to wait until I have a period then book in with the nurse... I asked what I should do if I don't have a period... She said wait 3 months, then do a pregnancy test to make sure then book in with the nurse... Does that sound right to anyone? Seems a long time to wait to me... Hubby won't be very pleased lol... Might google it...

Caitlyn has been in a lot better mood today! She's been quite happy to just lie and look around her a couple of times... Rather typically she's perfectly happy now... And Aimee has gone to a friends to play... Think I'm going to make the most of it and go to bed for a couple of hours... Got a sore throat and feel like I'm coming down with something... Hope it's not swine flu...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hi MM and all the others i know from the pregnancy thread.

I thought I would pop on here to see whats happening and was surprised to see so many people from the pregnancy thread, I feel like I've graduated

Dh has been on paternity leave for 1 week now, which means only 1 week left. Im not sure how anyone deals with a newborn and a toddler. On the odd occasions DH goes to the shop and leaves me with Darach who is 1 & 1/2 and Cliodhna 1 week today, im terrified he's going to throw something, or take a swipe for the baby. Im not sure how on earth im going to manage this full time come next week. + I cant move very quickly yet after the CS.

I have visions of me putting them both in the pram and just walking all day till DH comes home
I was really scared when OH went back to work but it was fine (I didn't have a CS scar to cope with tho!) he spent 3 nights away last week as well:rolleyes: Chris may have missed a bath night and gone to bed a little late but it was fine. (sorry that probably isn't any help :undecided)
Definitely don't try and push the pram with them both in! I still have trouble pushing them both

Aww, how adorable R.mac, such a cutie!

As it is photo sharing time, heres my little chap having a giggle with Nanna:
    http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2630257&l=d0111acbb3&id=551181113

Not bad seeing as that was the first time he'd seen her in about 5 weeks!
He's gorgeous! It let me look at the whole album - I love all of his clothes!!

SM - I'm not sure how you find out about them but do you know if there are any charity furniture shops that might have fridges?

Krystal - As far as I'm aware you don't need to have had a period and certainly don't need to wait 3 months - I suggest getting it put in by family planning because they are much more experienced and less likely to get it wrong!
Some prefer you to be on your period when you have it put in because the cervix is open but that isn't such a issue after 2 kids as its usually a bit loose (not calling u loose there!)

Example of our recent sleep problems - last night (our last night in California, we fly back tonight). He turned 11 months old on Sunday.

At bedtime, he is showing major signs of tiredness and is clearly ready
OH BFs him til he is very passive and heavy-lidded on the boob, and repeatedly drifting off
I take him and cuddle him, he is eyes-closed passive on my chest
I lower him into cot he IMMEDIATELY starts screaming and wriggling, gets to knees then standing position, and keeps screaming.
I leave him 2 minutes, then go and pick him up and cuddle and rock him for a few minutes, but he won't stop screaming and crying (and still showing all his tiredness signs of course). I put him down again.
We leave him 10 minutes, he is by now exhausted of the top-end screaming but is still trying, still standing in cot, and OH BFs him lying down in bed.
He gets heavy-lidded and passive again, I lift him into cot he falls asleep.

He wakes very upset at 1.30am; OH BFs him, I put him back in cot, he sleeps.

He wakes very upset at 4.15am, I try giving him a minute to re-settle but he climbs to standing and starts screaming again. I get up and rock him and soothe him and sing to him. At first he keeps screaming, after a few minutes he calms a bit but is very wriggly and keeps trying to pull himself out of my grip, after about 10 minutes he is passive and eyes-closed. I lower him into cot, he starts screaming and wriggling. I pick up rinse repeat, and again a third time.
By this point it's been about 30 minutes, a lot of which time he has been screaming his lungs out which I am pretty sure will have my FIL awake and his tenants downstairs, and we put him back on BF.
After 20 mins on BF he is still awake and upset by being taken off it, I rock him and soothe him for 5 minutes, he goes passive, I lower him into the cot, he starts crying feebly and wriggling, I pat his bottom rhythmically for 2 minutes, he is still and eyes-closed, but before I make it back under the covers he screams again, I pat his bottom for another 5 minutes, he sleeps.
    He gets up at 6.20.

The screaming and immediate upset even when he is basically 90% asleep when going into the cot has been making us second-guess every little reaction trying to decide if he might actually be sick or have a pain somewhere, but alll the rest of the time he seems totally fine so I just don't think that's it, I think it's "just a phase"!

Sorry :) As per the recent pages I know others have worse times (and when he was younger he did wake a lot more frequently), but I am pretty grumpy this morning so I just wanted to rant without having to be to my OH ;p

I was slightly cheered by a couple of people's gorgeous baby pics :) Feelie, Toby seems to have really strong character already don't you think? He really looks like an expressive person, not "just another baby". And r.mac, I really love Annabel's contemplative look, it's almost... who'm I thinking of... not the Mona Lisa... but anyway :p

    in fact Krystal:
I've just had a baby. Can I use an IUS?

An IUS is usually put in from four weeks after a vaginal or caesarean birth. You will need to use another method of contraception from three weeks (day 21) after the birth until the IUS is put in. It can also be put in within 48 hours of birth.
An IUS can be used safely while you are breastfeeding and will not affect your milk supply

Seems a bit strange to do a pregnancy test as that only tells you if you're past a certain number of weeks pregnant and you can get false negatives and the coil is an abortifacient anyway.

Alice has had occasions/phases where she objected to going to bed. I think when you start actually putting them in the cot they realise that you really are putting them to bed so they start objecting. We've also often found (but not always) that poor sleep is the first sign Alice has of a cold.

When we bought a washing machine we went to a shop. By a happy coincidence they had a number of end of lines on sale and also had a 10% sale that weekend. The one we chose the display model was the only one left and it hada little mark on so we negotiated some more off. Not quite as good a deal as weezl's freezer but it was over 25% chepaer than it was meant to be so it's worth looking around in real shops too.
