yeah Fritha, it is Dylan !!! Takes a while to remember all the names, but then I am a little sad and have some of them on a list so I can look them up when I am talking to people :)

Sami, I got lovely yellow poop all over my hand yesterday. I was cleaning his bum and he did the biggest fart and poo came with it !!!!!!!!!!! So glad no one was there to see it :)

    Hi all..

I've not had such a great day today.. :o Rhys was seen by a couple of specialists who gave us some "not great" news and it just set me off so got all teary whilst cuddling Rhys. We had a chilled out few hours just sat together dozing in the goldfish bowl whilst nurses and other parents milled about around us. The news in itself wasn't anything too bad or even a final answer on anything, it just set me off cos of the tension of not knowing what the future holds, iyswim.

First was the eye specialist who said, although Rhys' eyes were fine last week, he's now showing signs of ROP - can't quite remember what it stands for now, but basically means his retinas have been affected by the oxygen therapy he's received whilst they were still developing. It looks like it's already healing itself but it puts him on the list for further follow-up checks at 3mth and 1yr then yearly after that. It is mild so it just means an increased chance of Rhys needing glasses at some point but that comes with prematurity too. Glasses are no biggie, I know, but I think it was just the "he was fine, now he's not" part of it.
Second was the speech therapist. Rhys wasn't wide awake whilst she was there so didn't make his best efforts on sucking the bottle teat - probably exhausted himself with it this morning when he took 15ml, his best yet. She was fairly pesamistic about it all, and basically told me he would never breastfeed so there is little point in me even trying him anymore.. I think that's what's got to me most - I so so so wanted to breastfeed and now we've been told not to try "cos there's no point" and also because they can't "risk" him actually achieving it and taking some milk because it'll mess up his carefully control fluid intake (because of his kidney function).

Still teary now.. Going back in later with OH and really hoping Rhys is awake so we can play and do something fun..

Sorry to be so down.. so much for me being the upbeat one! :(
elle, its more normal to not have perfect eyesight than it is to have it, chances are he would have needed glasses anyway :) i've worn mine since i was 4 and OH has worn his since his teens so there isnt a hope for seth, but i sell glasses so at least i know i can sort him out with a good pair :)

oh! I know what I was going to say! Sami thanks loads i have lovely royal blue leggins from Mr T :)

DH does not get it, and says I look like I've taken up contemporary dance :rotfl:

I think they are essential mum uniform now... at all the baby groups I either end up cross legged on the floor in front of ferg, therefore dangerous knicker flashing possibilities in a skirt...or kneeling, therefore jeans but boiling hot, IYSWIM?
leggings are much better than jeans in this weather, but i do agree, skirts are not safe enough!!

some people are so thick!! They've just shown a warning thing about a webite posing as the official wimbledon site ripping people off, its so obvious its not real I spotted about 4 spelling mistakes in the seconds it was shown on tv for!

MM - I'm sure you don't :p Mine goes down to just above my ankles because I'm a shorty, its can be worn as a skirt but no chance of that for moi!

I'm not sure how good it would be for babies, but I have had freezer packs to hand since I got home from work. I've got several squishy ones, so I took one out with me, and had it down my back in the car. Then while I watched TV I had a wine bottle cooler on each wrist. Bliss ...

    What a fab idea :D
