Sami I had boots ones, they sometimes do buy one get 2nd half price so might be worth checking them out. I prefered them to tesco ones.

SB boots do the blue ones and they also have them in pink. Here is the blue pack

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Hello all, It's boiling hot here too. We all went camping in our new tent on Saturday night and in the evening it was lovely apart from the fact I have decided I'm too old to sleep on a mat on the floor now...I started to stiffen up after a few mins on the floor and had next to no sleep (as well as LO starting a cold and needing to feed constantly). So I'm after advice as we are about to go to France camping soon - does anyone here know of a more comfortable sleeping arrangement to suit a larger person (I've tried a camping bed contraption too but it was too narrow and my arms were on the metal bars which I found very uncomfortable).

BTW the sweat was POURING off us the next morning when we were putting the tent away it must have been 30 degrees or more it was soooo hot.

My tip to stay cool indoors - open windows a smidge and keep the curatins partially shut. We've got a comfortable 24 degrees here at the mo and no fans needed. Also apparantly fans can raise the temp in a room as they give off a small amount of heat !

    Hi girls

Gosh this heat is killing me!

    Here's the sleep clock I mentioned http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RED-Sleepy-Time-Bunny-Clock-Child-Sleep-Problem-BNIB_W0QQitemZ110299412688QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Clocks?hash=item19ae5b78d0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
It's worked pretty well until we got to Mum's yesterday and had to put it on a shelf she could reach. Then she appeared 10 mins after she went down for a nap saying the bunny was awake. It was, and the alarm was going off too. I got the blame for not setting it properly, but 10 mins later and she's there again. When DH investigates it turns out she's been twiddling the knobs and had changed the time :rotfl: We asked her what happened and she gave a very good account, "I twisted the button and the bunny woke up!"

She seems to sleep through the alarm, but being able to show her the bunny and say he's awake seems to stem the tide of tantrums we've been having when we have to wake her from a nap. Shortening her afternoon nap to around an hour has made a world of difference to her getting up time. She sleeps til past 7.30am most mornings, which will do me fine!

Imogen's at mum's til Friday, so I'm trying to take it easy. Have managed to hoover downstairs and do a load of washing so far, then off to the supermarket when DH gets home.

Feelie - if Toby's happy then don't worry. You could always let him play in just his nappy. No harm done if he's in the shade. As long as he's drinking and you're getting wet nappies then no need to worry.

Elle/MM - great news about the boys coming home. Will keep everything crossed for you.

Mrs T - shame about the move, but I know what you mean about the numbers looking scary. It freaks me out that DH's wage doesn't quite cover all our bills. Then there's the money we need to live on. When we had the house valued after our extension the estate agent was talking about houses to buy at £350-£400k like it was normal

Gonna have a look at that postal surveys forum, but would appreciate the info PM'd Maz please?

Caz - hope the baby has stopped crying.

29 degrees here today, I'm too hot! Decided that I am not getting dressed this week.

She is in her bouncer and sleeping but very lightly and cries when i stop bouncing her, i have given her ibuprofen as i really dont know whats wrong?
sounds like a great plan in not getting dressed! i wish i could but that plan might be ok from next week!!! kids will be off so can have an extra half hour in bed and no running around mad!:T

    Hi all..

Righty, we have a plan to make a plan for coming home! :D This week, they're going to get in touch with all the necessary people (nurses, doctors, specialists at Notts, community nurses, GP, SureStart type people.. not quite sure why the last one but there was mention of stairgates - a) Rhys can't crawl/walk anywhere yet, and b) we live in a bungalow, but anyway..) with a view to fixing a date by next Monday for a meeting. Meeting should be a few days after that and at the meeting they'll decide a date to aim for, probably 10-14 days after the meeting to give everyone time to get Rhys on their lists and to arrange some home visits etc..

Sooooo in about 10-14 days we'll have a date to come home which will be 3-4 weeks from today :D There is nothing the nurses are doing for Rhys now which we can't do at home, it's just a matter of getting everyone in place and arranging the support for when we're home (twice weekly visits from the comms nurses etc), plus OH and I learning the drugs part of it (which WILL mean giving Rhys an injection three times a week! :().

He's currently sat up on a beanbag in his cot so he can reach out and play with his toy arch thing easier, and we're going to do tummy time this afternoon and see if he'll push himself up and turn his head. Already does when he's lying on our chests but I think the nurses just want to see it for themselves too :)

sorry!:o:D I've got my sister and OH hooked now too :p

While I'm here does anyone know of good quality cheap muslins?
Mine are Zorbit ones I got free when I worked there but I need more, I've tried tesco ones but they are really thin and cheap feeling.
I know Mothercare ones are the same as zorbit ones and work out around £1 each which is cheaper than john lewis...

The best ones I have by far are Bambino Mio - which I got from Kiddicare - everyone comments on them at Booby Club(s)!!

okay, not the cheapest but by far the best - here
I do think JL ones are the best but I haven't actually got any from MC. I have lots of others that were either freebies or gifts but always use the JL ones first.

One of the Mum's at baby club had blue muslins! I forgot to ask her where they were from as I need some! :D (unless she mix washed! :rotfl::rotfl:).

    xx

I think bambino mio do blue ones too...just a tick!

hmm - can't remember where I saw them...I did find these though
