Have PM'd Sami and Cascoob re royal mail surveys.... it sounds hard when you first get all the stuff but once you start its so easy and takes a couple of minutes a week.

MilliesMum - I dont have any brilliant ideas sorry, I give them to my mum and sister and use them for Christmas obviously plus OH uses them when he sends stuff on ebay... on the Postal surveys thread I think some people have managed to sell them back to the Post Office.... have you been on there? if not here is a link to the thread

Also on the subject of somewhere to sleep, has anyone got any recommendations (or warnings!) for cot/crib bedding, sheets and blankets etc?

I'm going to have to dig out all the baby shop catalogues now and find their supposed "must have" lists to check I've remembered to buy everything!

I recommend sheets from Matalan, and second the suggestion for sleeping bags.

Hi all.. just on a quick break from the hospital - going back to practice bathing [STRIKE]the octopus[/STRIKE] my dear son at 4pm. All part of the parentcraft they teach before babies going home on the assumption that baby came before you went on the parentcraft classes like Rhys did. Also got a baby first aid DVD to watch then we've got to learn how to do medications - not looking forward to that one!

Rhys has put on 6oz since Wednesday, now 4lb 7oz :D He's also grown 2cm since last Sunday. Babygros for 3-5lb are looking a bit tight lengthways now, the Asda ones for up to 7lb look much better! OH took some pics last night so I'll upload them later on.

Today's nurse tried him on a bottle this morning and he took about a quarter of his feed like that then was tube fed the rest. We gave it another go and he took a bit more, so it's looking promising that we could 100% bottle feed (EBM). We're going to keep trying on alternate feeds and see how we go. The key to going home is that he has to take all of his feed, then all of all of his feeds in 24hrs from a bottle, then the tube can come out (or rather not be put back in once he inevitably pulls it out again!), then he can come home 24hrs after that.. OMG!! Panic!! ;)

They use NUK teats at the hospital but I'm going to take my TT CTN ones in later to see if he can get on with them as well. Wish us luck! :D

Speaking of breast pads, I remember a discussion here about them a while ago.. did you all have a particular favourite? I've only tried the Johnsons and TT ones - didn't like the TT ones at all! Just about to finish another box of Johnsons - don't have any complaints with them but might try some others..

Will search on that topic later.. For now, back to the hospital for bathtime (best take a spare top!) :D

Dont know Sami because I always use mine I never think of that. As I said I use mine at Christmas and give them to my mum etc. Sometimes you also get one of those presentation packs of stamps that they sell as a thank you, we keep them for Henry as keepsakes.

Great news elle-gee about Rhys's weight and feeding.:T

elle, the bath kicking only gets worse!! great news, he should be home fairly soon! :j
i just used sainsburys breast pads, cos in their 1/2 price baby event they had a while ago they worked out at 70p a box. they seemed ok to me but i think someone else on here doesnt get on with them, MFD maybe?

i have just washed the car seat cover as seth gets very sweaty and his daddy decided to put sun cream on him and some on the seat for good measure, and the stupid warning label has melted and looks even more stupid  it said it could be tumble dried for 15 mins on a low heat so thats what i did but apparantly not  its now drying in the sun through the window on our bed, i hope it dries by tomorrow or i'll go insane not going out anywhere
