Other than all that, Rhys did really well on his first trip out. He looked bemused by feeling the breeze on his face whilst we were putting him back in his car seat :D

One last quick thought.. MFD, you said (pages back!) that you're waiting to go on the combined pill.. Do you mean the mini-pill? Thought you couldn't take the combined one whilst breastfeeding.. :)

Glad Rhys' outing went well Elle.

...as I keep telling my husband, my baby brain only allows me to throw words out - you make sense of them ;)

I knew it was wrong when I said it, it is the BF friendly pill that is waiting for me.

cool - we have loads at the allotment ready to pick and pickle, but Izzy loves it, so will save some for her too. Beetroot for tea not lunch though. That way I can feed her just in her nappy and put her straight in the bath afterwards ... Or maybe just feed her in the bath ;)

LOL does beetroot make for bright red poop??

Mel - sit ups  you mad thing!!

Thanks for that - I will look out for some.

I was a 8-10 when I fell pregnant (I was 21!) - Ive never been that size ever again and am perfectly happy with the fact I never will be.

My boobs did shrink though...... God thats so unfair!! If Ive kept weight on everywhere else, you would hope some would stay on my boobs but alas no......

My mum used to feed me in the bath! :o She said I was so tired I would only last long enough for tea OR a bath and as I needed both she combined the two! Many a pic in my baby albums of me in the bath with spaghetti sauce or chocolate mousse round my face..

Rhys is good this morning. Looks all cosy in his cot in the isolation room - awaiting MRSA swabs to come back, then he can go back into the main unit :) Spoke to the consultant who revived Rhys at birth earlier.. We were talking about how Rhys seems to bounce back from a lot of things just as it's looking dire, and the consultant told me he has started asking for everyone's thoughts (for a joint decision on when to stop their efforts) after 20 minutes, they decided on 30 minutes max, then Rhys came back after 24.. *no suitable smilie for that!*

That sentence gave me goosebumps! God know what it did you you.

Hope he enjoyed his first day out! Have you got any pics - i bet he looked so cute in his car seat for the first time!

I'll join everyone with the weight loss! I'm in my pre-preg clothes - but want to get back to my 5 years ago size! I lost loads of weight naturally after I had my first, not so easy with my second - but joined weight watchers and got to my target weight. Then I stopped - and gradually grew!

Mine is more that I need to excercise - but I don't have time! We've got a wii, and wii fit, and OH went out and bought some other exercise game for me a few weeks ago. I've got so little time, i've not even looked at it to tell you what its called. When do you lot fit excecise in?

We've also got a local buggy-excecise group, weekly in the local woods area. Found it through net-mums but haven't been brave enough to go and join in yet.

I don't really want to lose the weight I gained as I'm finally not underweight but it would be nice if the fat off my tummy went back to wear it used to live on my fingers. I can only wear my wedding ring in the summer because my fingers shrank and my ring falls off in winter. OH doesn't want to pay to have it shrunk as he's convinced my fingers will grow bigger again.

NB - I hope you dont mind me saying, but I see you've all been chatting about it! Ive never been back into my pre-pregnancy clothes and my baby is 7 years old now! And Im perfectly happy with that..... Not losing the weight isnt all bad x

Ditto here I've never gone back to my pre-pregnancy size either - I was a size 10 (8 ish stone) when I got pregnant at 25 with ds1 and I've never been below 10 stone since (and that was after a particularly stressful time during which I lost weight for no apparant reason) .... however I'd be happy at a size 14 as being pregnant and then subsequent breastfeeding has dragged me over a 20 (esp up top as the boobies are huge now). I'm hoping that giving up the boobie when ds2 is 2 will help as it's definately not true here that breasfeeding helps you lose weight - I actually started to put weight on due to the inactivity as I'm used to being very active and so got used to being able to eat when I want without it affecting my weight too much.

elle g - like the idea of feeding little one in the bath ...would save me lots of cleaning of floors too :T.

:o I didn't take any pictures :( We did have the camera with us but there didn't seem a good moment to use it.. That said, we kinda want to write off that trip and count his trip HOME as his first proper trip, iyswim :o

As for when that will be, they usually aim for babies to leave around their term date and that's three weeks on Sunday  Not sure if it'll be three weeks but shouldn't be far off, maybe five max.

Rhys has twice weekly blood tests and the docs have just changed an additive in his milk which should reduce the phosphate (sp?) levels in his blood so they need to give it probably six blood tests to see if it's working and the levels continue to get back to normal (well, nearer normal that they are now - not sure his kidneys will ever be totally normal). If they're going in the right direction at least, Rhys may be discharged and the community neonatal nurses will come to see us twice a week and take the blood then. If I have to take him back into the childrens' ward several times a week then so be it :)

As for the weightloss, I'm gutted I can fit back into (some of) my old clothes! I was a size six before and had a few size eight bits which I'm back to wearing now. I was really looking forward to piling on weight in the last few weeks so I wouldn't lose too much afterwards but it's all just gone, leaving slightly wider hips. Won't be wearing a bikini for a while yet though, still got the jelly belly :(
