cool - we have loads at the allotment ready to pick and pickle, but Izzy loves it, so will save some for her too. Beetroot for tea not lunch though. That way I can feed her just in her nappy and put her straight in the bath afterwards ... Or maybe just feed her in the bath ;)

and remember not to panic over red wees and poos tomorrow! :)

Ditto here I've never gone back to my pre-pregnancy size either - I was a size 10 (8 ish stone) when I got pregnant at 25 with ds1 and I've never been below 10 stone since (and that was after a particularly stressful time during which I lost weight for no apparant reason) .... however I'd be happy at a size 14 as being pregnant and then subsequent breastfeeding has dragged me over a 20 (esp up top as the boobies are huge now). I'm hoping that giving up the boobie when ds2 is 2 will help as it's definately not true here that breasfeeding helps you lose weight - I actually started to put weight on due to the inactivity as I'm used to being very active and so got used to being able to eat when I want without it affecting my weight too much.

elle g - like the idea of feeding little one in the bath ...would save me lots of cleaning of floors too :T.
I read some research which found that women who breastfed and women who formula fed lost weight at roughly the same rate. I think it did find that the women who were formula feeding were more likely to have been actively trying to lose weight whereas the breastfeeding ones weren't because of the BF. It also found the distribution of weightloss was different. Apparently breastfeeding women lost weight off their stomach more quickly compared with formula feeding women so I dread to think what I would be like if I wasn't breastfeeding.

    Evening everyone !!

Well had a great day today, Dylan is off his CPAP machine and has been on bottle feeds of EBM all day so they are moving him out of the incubator and into a cot tomorrow !!!! :):):):)

SM - I will join the weight loss group too, but need a couple more weeks to recover properly from the section and enjoy my baby when he comes home before I take it too seriously !! (ie. a few more weeks of chocolate :))

congratulations - what exciting news :D
I guess it depends on how much baby feeds

It was my MW that told me 800 minimum but a quick google shows various numbers from 200 to 800

The weight dropped off me though....my pre-pregnancy trousers are now baggy...it is just my belly that worries me, it's like there is extra skin now

ETA- I say 'dropped off' but I am still a size 16 (heading towards 14, fingers crossed!!)

I'm the same - dropped all the weight and back to regular size (i'm an 8-10) but I have this extra belly that I never had before :( It means things fit me differently and I'm not liking it. Upon asking OH what he thought he said he loved me but sit-ups were the way forward. I may just learn to live with it - that's probably easier than the sit-ups!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: oh and thank godness for control knickers - they were my saviour at my sisters wedding ;):T

Thanks for that - I will look out for some.

I was a 8-10 when I fell pregnant (I was 21!) - Ive never been that size ever again and am perfectly happy with the fact I never will be.

My boobs did shrink though...... God thats so unfair!! If Ive kept weight on everywhere else, you would hope some would stay on my boobs but alas no......

my milk is really dwindling and I have really noticed that my boobs are shrinking - which is really unfair as they never grew all through pregnancy and baby arriving  so I'll be smaller there than when I started...my positive outlook on that one is that perhaps I can fit into some of the more fashion led bras now - before hand I was a bravissimo only girl :D

Here is something for scottish mummies, I think I might go along although i think I starp her in properly I might just pop along as it really does no harm.

Elle thats great Rhys had a good visit.

Caz I would try and express as much as you can coz even tomorrow you will still have alcohol in your system so her first couple of feeds might need to be EBM. I think I'm right in saying that.

I went straight back to pre pregnancy size but over the past 18 months have piled on the lbs but now I'm on the kellogs diet and its working;)

so not sure that I reported back on the HV weaning chat or not - baby brain means I can't remember! Anyway she agreed that we were ready to start 'properly' and we are doing a week of one meal, a week of two meals then a week of three meals. We have started with baby rice, pureed pear and carrots. She's really good with holding things like bickie pegs in her mouth - so we are trying her with little things to hold to get used to hand control too, but that will come with time. the HV brought a bag of goodies with her and one of the items was a first sippy cup by tommee tippee so we are trying her with that for water. so far she's really interested in it and getting a mouthful here and there with a little help.....

we checked out a mother and baby group today - everyone was really nice and we met some ladies and babies that I hope we see again next week. :D

going out tomorrow night with DH for his birthday (first time just the two of us - we've been out once with friends and I've bene out once by myself) so I'm really excited about it. Mum and Dad are staying the night so no pressure about curfews! I'm looking forward to a large G&T. :D

LO is watching the tomliboos on in the night garden and giggling away like nothing else. I'm feeling guiilty for letting her watch tv :(

Aww Caz, you have to go out! I felt like that the first time I went out after having Lexi, I ended up wearing jeans and a top, but once I had done my hair and make up and thrown some heels on I felt alright! Havnt you just gone back blonde aswell? Focus on the other bits and bobs have a glass of wine while you get ready (after feeding Erin ;)) Youll feel good once your out. And just remember nothing fits 'right' after having a baby! Good luck chick and get yourself out there have a bit of fun!

Hasnt your sis just had a baba too? She'll be feeling like you so you have to support each other! xxx

caz - you'll have a great time. Don't worry about the clothes. we are all exactly the same right now. I'm only going to wear an old skirt (and top) on saturday, but because I've not worn it for such a long time it feels almost new! No doubt I'll have forgotten how to walk in heels as well :rotfl: so flats might be more dignified if i'm going to have a little drink :D

since having the baby I am much less bothered by what I am wearing! I still like to look nice, but I'm not so obsessive as I just don't have the time (or inclination - I'd actually rather spend the time singing old macdonald had a farm - how sad does that make me :D)
