caz, am i right in thinking you're 24/25? i wouldnt do it this young and i'm 10000% certain i dont want any more babies!

thanks have just turned 26, i knew if i asked here i would get good opinions. my family all keep on at me to get it done and feel that there is so much pressure. i dont really see why they all moan as TBH they dont do anything for the kids(apart from my fab little sister!) we do everything for our kids by ourselves and always have done, we try to get away just the two of us at least once a year for the weekend but really that is it!
What's for you won't go past you
  • thanks emlou, ive tried a few creams we have knocking about but its just got worse since ive been fiddling with it, ive got bad skin... it looks like hes inherited it... little marks, spots, bites etc take FOREVER to go, if they go at all... poor kid!
it probably needs something as simple as vasaline... will see what the doc says

Caz - so far so good!, im lucky in that my OH has been on it for a while and also does all the cooking, so its minimal effort from me really (excpet for the excercise ive started... got the natalie cassidy now and then dvd ... its a good workout)
but you work out how many points your allowed from your height & weight then try and stay under it, luckily LOADS of stuff is point free so you can have still have something naughty for dinner but fill up on veg,
you can eat anything you want as long as you have the points for it... you can even save them up for a blow out! i might put a few points aside every day for fish and chips on friday! :)

im currently having cereal in the morning, soup and bread for lunch which really is minimal points so i can have a massive evening meal, i hate feeling hungry and deprived of food!

    OH has lost over 50lb!

feelie, i dont think anyone can really say anything more to you to assure you that theres nothing wrong with not BF. you've tried, you've had support, he just doesnt get it. the amount of trained support you've had that havent been able to help, and the fact your HV told you to stop both should tell you something really. (hugs)
    did you ring your HV?

She phoned me yesterday, and is coming over today to weigh the baby.

I sent off a request for information on local things for babies, and the Childrens Centre lady came out to see me yesterday to give me all the details. Got talking about how I'm feeling, so she is coming back next week to teach me baby massage! She'll come again for a couple of weeks, then she'll help me get ready to go out, and will take me to a Baby Group.

Milk supply is still increasing, I'm up to about 1000ml a day. Which would be great if my 8 week old baby didn't drink 1200ml! According to my calculations, that is enough breastmilk for a 17lb baby. Ooops.

He has a baby gym, its a lovely wooden one!

I don't know what it is, whether it is just anxiety, but I feel like I should be doing things with him all the time. I hold him pretty much all the time, I just worry about him so much. I especially worry that he won't feel loved enough, so I probably go overboard :o

That is great feeli - just shows there are some nice people out there, it's just hard to find them sometimes!! Well done on the milk, you are one strong determined lady to continue doing that the way you have.....I couldn't even bring myself to breastfeed any of my kids, never mind stick with it through all the trouble you have had:T

em - sorry to hear about the reflux...I'm glad he is gaining weight though, that's got to be a good sign. I got Kai weighed over a week ago and he was 12lb 14.5oz...He will definitely be over 13lb now, little chubster:D

Is anybody elses baby trying to sit up at 12wks?..well he has been trying for a couple of weeks really, I keep telling him he is too young for that and to just lay back and rest lol.

it will do him and you good to be that little bit more independant and do little activities like that though. when i was getting seth used to the gym i used to play on the floor with him and then gradually get up and do something on the other side of the room.

at first i used to despair cos i thought i couldnt do anything cos he wouldnt allow me to do anything that wasnt cuddling him, but we've come on so much in the last 8-9 weeks. its amazing how liberating even doing the washing up while he coos and bashes away can be for that little break!!

no sitting up but he rolls over with a vengeance, have to be so careful now! if we sit him up he can balance for about 10 seconds. got a bumbo on its way (£15 ebay bargain!) i hope he likes it cos we're planning to use it for weaning instead of a high chair as we dont have space for a table and chairs. the plan is a bin bag torn open, bumbo on it, roll up the food in the bin bag and chuck out. in theory, mess free. we can dream :rotfl:

Don't forget she's there for you too!, not just for weighing the baby!

I always used to worry that the baby would be bored if I wasn't cuddling/entertaining her 24 hours a day! But if you think they've been in a dark warm tummy for 9 months - that must have been boring :D, so even sitting in the chair looking around or under the gym for a bit must be really interesting for them.
She loves the gym, and has realised that pulling one of the toys makes it play a tune. (She always uses her left hand - is handedness decided at this stage?) Best thing we've got is the door bouncer thingy - she loves standing in there, looking around and trying to grab the dog as it passes.

Caz - I think if you have any doubts at all, you shouldn't have it done. I'm 37 and I wouldn't be able to go through with it - its just too final. I don't think we'll have any more, but I do have a dream of winning the lottery and buying a huge house and cramming in as many children as I can in the few years I have left. :rotfl:

Feely, that's an amazing amount of milk! I can barely get 4oz out first thing in the morning, and that's going to get harder to do as Caitlyn gets bigger and my supply regulates...

Mel, Aimee was sitting unsupported by 15 weeks, her balance was amazing!

I'm pinned to the sofa by both girls today.... Aimee has a bad throat and temperature... Its bad enough that she doesn't want her swimming lesson later... Nothing can keep her away from swimming usually!

Oh, and my tommee tippee lids came today, not bad service, I only ordered them 2 days ago...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
