Tesco is in the process of relaunching the bulk purchase policy instores with new training. The policy will be store specific.
To the OP, I wouldn't bother with you buying something like the clipboards in bulk, but if it was a very popular special offer I'd probably enforce the bulk purchase policy. There are some exceptions to it though, for example Easter eggs for a nursery and that sort of thing.0 -
I too work for Tesco and whilst I appreciate all the points made the tills automatically come up prompts for certain purchases. The operator has no choice but to follow them. The most annoying is when my house is struck down with flu, you can only buy 2 packs of painkillers at a time, anything with paracetamol or aspirin gets flagged including lemsips, beechams etc:mad: The most ridiculous one that I have seen is on plastic cutlery sets and asks for ID as it contains a knife!!
p.s. If you buy grapes and get them weighed one by one it would be classed as a bulk buy. I wouldn't recommend it because the urge to throw them at you might be too much to bear:rotfl:please note this I why I've said grapes not potatoes;)0 -
Does anyone know if there's a stupidly low limit (ie. one) on lemons and limes at Asda. Whenever I've bought more than one lemon or lime I've had to get it approved as well as having to put them through one at a time.0

I've just remembered watermelons often come up on self service as having a security tag on them:D0

What you have to do is go to the self service checkout.Put through 10 of them, pay, and then start again with the next batch.:D0

It is 6 bottles to get the 5% discount as i bought 6 last Friday - 2 lots of 3 for £10 and got over £2.70 off (5% off original price)The Daily Mail

If so could Tesco kindly PUBLICISE this policy please.
I've just had an online order cancelled and this "policy" has been quoted as the reason. I was told it was in the online terms and conditions - it isn't - except for an oblique reference to "commercial" transactions - which it isn't.
During a subsequent call to online order customer service about it I was just told it "is there somewhere" and "Well you aren't going to get the delivery whatever you say"
So much for "every little helps":rotfl:0 -

Perhaps David Cameron can introduce it in the next emergency budget? Any other options to publicise it?0 -
This is crazy. Do they want to sell the stuff or not. What business is it of theirs what you are going to do with it once you have bought it anyway.Having said this I have often bought more than 10 of one item and never had a problem. Is this something new they have brought in?0
