Will come back to you in a bit, going to interrogate the regulations regarding part time overseas courses, as there may have been recent changes.

Is family allowance counted as part of your income? They don't ask for it on the form, but just wondered if it is included?
    thanks

Family allowance hasn't existed for years. Do you mean child benefit, child tax credits or both?

with some specific exceptions, if you have already had a student loan to do a full degree, you will not get further funding. you can get the loans for one degree, but they no longer allow you to get help for multiple degrees (they changed it quite a few years ago already)

Ok trying to understand how they calculate the income

    Gross salary + gross interest

They then take away dependent child £1130?

I do not have to include child benefit and they don't want to know about my works pension unless I pay a voluntary amount?

    Is that it?

I have no other income and no other benefits to take into consideration.

    Thanks

spideygirl-that about sums it up nicely :)
  • thank you. I have got different answers each time from the "helpline".

Last night the person that answered the phone had to go away and ask how much was taken off for a dependent child. He came back with £1500! I asked where that figure came from and he said that is what they use. I have only ever seen £1130. I really wish they would get people that know about it to work the phones :-(

But thanks for your help, now I feel a bit more confident sending in the form.
