Maz, tbh, because the jaffa thing worked, I think I'll probably just go with that anyway. :D

I was thinking last night, as I ate my weigh-day cheat of spicy prawns :p I don't think I can introduce food yet because once I have a bit, it's hard to get properly back to SS.

So nibbling jaffa cakes it is!

Well after week 9, I have had a review of my progress so far.

    Very Good Pluses,
I've lost 1 st 8.5 lbs, which equates to 11.19% of my starting weight, now thats good and will have a significant effect on my health. I have reached 33% of my target loss, and my BMI has gone down from 32.44 to 28.81.

    Startling minus's
out of 63 days, I have only managed 100% on 32 of them, that can range from a piece of ham to a full blown p!ss up and binge, but I count each one the same.
If I had behaved a little better, I could now have been a lot further a long in this journey, certainly around 2st 5lbs lighter, 50% off target.

Some food for thought methinks, I need to try and stop thinking of food as a treat for being good, which I have a tendancy to do. Especially when I have a run of good days. I need to start thinking about how much I have wasted all that effort and willpower on the good days by "rewarding" myself with food. I'm just not very good at it.........

The challenge has been great for me, thanks to all of you, it definitely helped me avoid the chips and the wine:D

I think you and Maz are right, a Jacket Potato with the skin is a more complex carb than the sugar of a jaffa cake.
In a normal diet you would want the slower and sustained release of energy that you would get from the JP, but because you want a quick fix of energy the sugars in the cake, jelly and chocolate will get in to your system much more quickly.

My son swims and they recommend cubes of jelly (not made up- just the cubes) for when they are racing for quick injections of instant energy, the jaffa cake is likely doing the same job.

morning all - mrs duncs, put me down for the finest dose of your claps please! I was 100% yesterday!

I think the thing that worried me more about the CDC advice was the time delay and the nature of the carbs she suggested...

jaffa cakes, or jelly babies or something like that but don't use them as an excuse... i found myself having them for a wee while, but now i don't bother at all generally, but it gave me a boost when i needed to push my distances (maybe only mentally even, who knows.) but you burn them off instantly and then go back to burning fat directly afterwards.... suppose a run uses 400 cals, that's more than 3 jaffa cakes burned off...

i've forgotten to bring a tetra to work today... i have 2 shakes in my bag so they will have to do..... pah!!

At the risk of TMI, having a very heavy period wierdly enough and woke up today looking like i'd been shot in the leg!!! (and that was with all the normal levels of nightime protection in place!)

had to strip bed and scrub mattress, been a long time since i had to do that....

    humph!

anyway point is, that scales this am still not budging, so won't be surprised if nothing this week due to heaviness of period... at least if it is 0 then i will be able to say why....
