I have to confess that I have not tried the CD yet. I did manage 2 months on Lighterlife and lost 2 stone but I found that I just cannot stomach thier food packs :-(.

I'm now trying My Meal Mentor and I have to say I am please so far. The prices seem to sit between CD and Lighterlife but it tastes so much better than LL (OK OK thats not really a challenge). Weight is still coming of at a similar rate so early signs are positive.

The counselling is one to one. I am going weekly (but I can stretch this out to 4 weekly if I want).

The downside is that at the moment there are only clinics in the Southampton and Bournemouth areas at the moment but it may be of interest to some folks.

Not sure whether I can post links - dont want to be accused of spaming :-o but if anybody wants to PM me I can give you contact info.

I had my 3rd weigh in yesterday and I've lost 20lbs in 3 weeks, thats even with falling off the wagon last weekend:o

The packs are better this time around (I first did CD 5/6 years ago), I even quite liked the porridge ones!

    Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can advise me please and help whether Cambridge diet is right for me!

I'm 26, 4ft 2 and just over 11 stone in weight. I was not very active and was a complete take-away junkie. I gained 2 stone in 2 years. The doctor told me I was almost obese for my height and has advised me to lose it.

However, after a month I am just a few lbs lighter and 11 stone :( I don't seem to be losing anything at all and I am wondering if the Cambridge Diet will kick start my weight loss so I am able to maintain it once it is done?

I would like to get to 8.5 / 9 stone again ideally. I'm wondering how long it would take me on the CD diet (with some sort of food intake - and without i guess!) and what step(s) may be best for me?

Any advice would be great thank you :j

Do you really mean 4 ft 2 inches tall?

I can't advise on the Cambridge Diet, but I have looked at a few others and it seems to be whatever works for you as an individual. My stepdaughter recently lost 7 1/2 stone using SlimmingWorld. She tried to explain it to me but I couldn't get my head around it. Same with Weight Watchers. I'm doing the Dukan Diet and in almost 4 weeks I've lost 4 1/4 pounds. I'm happy with that.

Just a comment about McD's and all the others. IMHO they are no damn good to man or beast. I prefer to know what is actually in the food I put into my mouth.

Well done on your loss so far :)

I'm doing it - lost 11lb in 12 days - and over the moon.

    Won't pretend it's easy....

1st few days were hard but have to say it does get easier - but u hav to REALLY stick with it.

I'm planning on doing it for 5 weeks, and will see how I go from there, may carry on, might then go on either low carb or old WW.

Good luck if you start it it really does take dedication.
  • hi anyone still on this i have started today
  • I am....
I started last Sunday doing SS! Then went on to SS+ on Wednesday. Lost few lbs but ended up having blow out on Saturday (ma's food and wine - had a serious poor me attitude going on).. so in effect I have lost 2lbs! Gutted cause I have really watched what I ate (until the Sat) - no carbs!
Anyway I realise if I stick with SS+ I am not goin to lose anyting as I have bought food into the equation. so I started SS again yday!! Day 2 today!
I have done LL and CD in the past with excellent results so know this works for me!! Just gotta keep up the motivation

Good luck!! Would be nice if we could spur each other on!....
  • i had a soup for breakfast and have drank loads of water and keep going to the toilet lol, gettin hungry now but will leave it as long as possible before i have my next shake

i did cd a few years ago and lost a few stone hoping i will be able to do that again

well done on yesterday keep it up today :)

    xx
