Cambridge Diet part II

there are various plans, ranging from all meal substitutes to just one substitute a day - have a look the plans on their web site. it will give you a better idea.
You do need to drink 2.25l water a day (4 pints) but I find if you have fizzy mineral water, have a glass by your side most of the day, it's not a problem.
Good luck, whatever you choose, it is worth it0 -

I really don't begrudge one penny I have spent on Lighterlife. The counselling sessions are excellent, and the reintroduction of food programme is key to maintaining the weight I have reached. Cambridge might be cheaper, but I honestly feel to keep the weight off, Lighterlife is the plan for me.Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Hey guys,
I don't really see the point in LL compared to CD, they have you doing group work and urine tests during meetings, I think for weight loss it's all a bit too much, as soon as you walk through the door they assume that you have an eating disorder, but 9/10 that's actually not the point, too many people these days are blaming their weight on addictions etc., in my line of work I have found that people are faster to say this then just to admit that they are in the wrong, you put the food in your mouth because you want to, you can't always blame it on your "mind" take responsibility for your own actions rather than blame someone/something else.
As far as CD goes here are my stats:
Start weight: 20stone
Weight loss in 6 weeks: 4stone
Current weight: 16stone
Target weight: 13stone
For me the first week was hell, but it is only a few months of your life, surely that is worth it?0 -
Hi guys
I have done LL and CD in the past, and much prefer CD. I couldn't stand the group therapy carp, or the piddling on a stick palaver:mad:
I need to start doing something again soon, I've put on over a stone in 6 weeks though I haven't eaten any more than usual or moved any less, and the Dr just said "its probably a virus"!!!!
Anyhoo.....I'm thinking of CD for a month to start off with, to at least give me a kick start (on SS), there is a counsellor at my health centre but apparently he charges a consultation fee, is this normal? I've never paid a fee before, only the price of the shakes etc.
He's not the only counsellor so I may go with someone else but if you could give me the heads up I'd be grateful :heartsmil0 -
Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new to this forum and on my fifth day of CD. I get weighed on Monday - was hoping for an unrealistic stone in a week but will have to be happy with whatever I lose! Found it easyish so far, but that's mainly because I've been in work all week. Different on a Saturday, when at home with hubby who has sausage butties for breakfast!
I've got around six stone to lose. Really hope I can do this. Am fed up of being fat and frumpy.
Hoping that by joining in here, I can get some support and that I can help support you all too! I need it!
By the way, I have been allowed the bars from the first week and have found them invaluable as I don't enjoy shakes (of any kind, even McDonalds' ones!) and the soups make me baulk! Have had to just go with the shakes, forcing them down, though it has got easier as the week has gone on, surprisingly.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing from anybody!!0 -

Hi Susie,
I'm starting CD on Thursday, well my counsellor is coming Thurs pm so I'll start Friday. I'm really looking forward to it. I've got 4 stone to lose
I tried CD before but an unsupportive and actually rather unpleasant partner (now-ex) kept trying to sabotage my efforts. Now he's gone :j and I'm raring to go on the new me!!
Its now Monday so you'll have to let us know how much you've lost.0 -
Hi all, I'm thinking about starting the CD. I did LL in March for about two weeks, lost 8lb but realistically just couldnt afford it. I'm thinking the CD is very similar but half the price.
Have found a few counsellors that are local to me but just wanted someone to explain the set up. Do you see your counsellor once a week, does she come to you or do you go to her. How do you get your food, do you buy it from here. Lastly, what is the average cost.
I'm 15 stone 2lb and looking to get back to my pre baby days of 11 stone so quite a bit to lose.
Good luck to all of you and hopefully someone can answer my questions.
Thanks0 -
Hi. I don't know the answers to you questions about CD sorry, as I did LL. Just wanted to say, you won't regret it! My first weigh in was March 1st and I was 15 stone 1lb
This week I weighed in at 10 stone 4lb! :j I'm hoping to have lost the final 3lb next week that makes a total loss of five stone, in 4 and a half months.
Good luck!Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

Hello Again, (Hi sofababe!)
My counsellor was unable to come on Monday just gone but will be visiting tomorrow night for my first weigh. I'm thinking that could be quite good psychologically as I should record a better weight loss than if it was only a week.
I must say that I have found the shakes easier to drink, though it is a mouthful of shake, drink water, mouthful of shake, drink water, until it's all gone!
Have run out of bars so am ordering extra this time around in case my counsellor can't do a visit in a week's time again.
Hope you are all doing well!0
