    Hi

I want to start a VLCD and have previously used the cambridge diet but its not possible for me to see a cd cousellor once a week, Im often abroad working for 6-8weeks at a time so I was thinking of trying the Exantediet, has anyone else tried it? is it similar to cd? I have no health issues, loads of weight to loose and my doctor thinks it would be a good idea for me

thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give me, I really want to loose weight by christmas

Hi, my friend did this diet. It works in the same way as CD, it's a food replacement diet but you just order the packs over the internet, so it works out a bit cheaper. I think you just have three foodpacks a day? People always sell them on ebay too, so may be worth taking a look there too. Good luck, the weight will drop off!
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Has anyone tried making thier own shakes? There are recipes on google and im wondering how they would be nutrition wise?
Would be much cheaper than CD.

do you have a link for this?
  • HI

I have done the CD before and lost a lot of weight very quickly. Over the last couple of years I have slowly put opn 2 stone, so would like to loose this again.

I have recently bought some Exante Diet products, but 1) they are not as nice and 2) the weight doesn't seem to be coming off as quickly.

Being a single mum with 2 children, I'm not sure I can afford to go back on the CD. Does anyone have anything positive to say about Exante to keep me motivated??!!!

    Thanks!

Hi all, I'm thinking about starting the CD. I did LL in March for about two weeks, lost 8lb but realistically just couldnt afford it. I'm thinking the CD is very similar but half the price.

Have found a few counsellors that are local to me but just wanted someone to explain the set up. Do you see your counsellor once a week, does she come to you or do you go to her. How do you get your food, do you buy it from here. Lastly, what is the average cost.

I'm 15 stone 2lb and looking to get back to my pre baby days of 11 stone so quite a bit to lose.

Good luck to all of you and hopefully someone can answer my questions.

    Thanks

Some counsellors do home visits, mine does (luckily as I don't drive), but most prefer u go there as that's where the scales are, all the packets are kept etc. Why not email a couple of them to see if they will fit in with whatever u need.
21 packs (3 a day on Sole Source) costs me £44.10. My counsellor charges £2.10 per item, though some charge less for sachets and more for bars but it all works out pretty similar.
Some may charge a consultation fee, so do ask. Most don't but they are allowed to if they want. One near me charges £20 a time PLUS the packs
I also have 4 stone to lose, my first weigh in was 15st 5lbs, so we are pretty similar, I would like to see 11 stone again too :D

I've just finished my first week and lost...........10lbs:j:j:j

About the cost, if it seems expensive sit down and have a think about how much u spend weekly on alcohol, eating out/takeaways, sandwiches on the run, the odd bag of crisps or Mars bar. Its actually saving me money

Good luck all of you. We CAN do this :)

Great weightloss, it'll be a stone or more by next week!

That's how I offset the cost, if I think I would probably spend about £3 or more a day on lunch at work - that's £15 at least
Couple of bottles of wine over the weekend - £10
Extra treats in the shopping trolley - it soon adds up but because you're not spending it all out in one go it seems less.
    Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
    And now the final frame
    Love is a losing game
  • Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can advise me please and help whether Cambridge diet is right for me!

I'm 26, 4ft 2 and just over 11 stone in weight. I was not very active and was a complete take-away junkie. I gained 2 stone in 2 years. The doctor told me I was almost obese for my height and has advised me to lose it.

Since then I have joined the gym and began excercising (mildly/moderately) I have almost stopped take-aways completely and may have something like a Nandos once a fornight (compared to a mcdonalds nearly everyday or every other day!) I now cook almost every meal from fresh and at most may have oven food like chips and chicken/fish once a week. My portions are smaller and my food intake is alot better controlled.

However, after a month I am just a few lbs lighter and 11 stone :( I don't seem to be losing anything at all and I am wondering if the Cambridge Diet will kick start my weight loss so I am able to maintain it once it is done?

The whole step thingy has confused me tbh and I really don't get if I eat some normal food with shakes and bars etc or what! (Sorry if I sound thick! There were wayy too many posts to read all of them lol). I know you can get drinks only etc but I don't think I want to go too drastic in case I can't handle it! Also, I am hoping to meet an advisor on Monday to discuss everything too.

I would like to get to 8.5 / 9 stone again ideally. I'm wondering how long it would take me on the CD diet (with some sort of food intake - and without i guess!) and what step(s) may be best for me?

Any advice would be great thank you :j

Sorry for hijaking the thread but I'm just wondering if anyone has any CD they'd like to sell? I've done the plan before and am looking for a week or two's worth for a quick shape up before a special occasion. Please PM me if you have any leftover you need to get rid of, thanks!
  • Hello all. I am new to this and also to CD, having joined both this evening. Any tips on how to be successful with CD?
  • Hi guys, I started on the Cambridge Diet 3 weeks ago. Initally I joined Lighter Life but it is £77 a week!! My friend said she thought CD was cheaper and it is around the £35 mark. To be honest I am saving money as as well as not doing a food shop I am not popping into Starbucks or grabbing a sandwich, a snack or a treat which you always lose track of how much you spend. Plus you dont need to go food shopping or do any cooking - Boom! Whats not to love!! I am finding it great. Admittedly I am getting married on 17 September so I have a fixed focus but I am genuinely not hungry or tired. My diet is probably more balanced than it was previously. I am also already recognising how much food is a social thing in my life and when I have thought - Oh I really want that, when I have through "am I actually hungry" the answer is no and it is really that everyone else is eating or I just fancy it because it is nice. You have to understand that the packs are a quick fix and that you need to re-educate yourself on your eating habits whilst you are losing as if your previous diet made you fat - returning to it to obviously going to do the same. I have lost 18lb in 3 weeks and if I can lose another stone - stone and a half I will be delighted.

I have some Lighter Life packs over if anyone is interested in them - they are the porridge ones (which I found vile!) and Chilli which I didnt taste after tasting the Shepherds Pie!! I am not really selling this I know but hey we are all different!! :T
