Cambridge Diet part II

I have needed to lose a lot of weight for a few years and have tried numerous times with varying degrees of failure by doing it by myself. I know that I need something measured and structured so I tried weight watchers, which worked but I couldn’t take the meetings as I was crying with laughter, it was too like little Britain and people would even sit in there eating crisps!
After looking around I came across the Cambridge plan and it sounded good, one to one meetings so they would know if I was cheating or failing. I made contact with a rep a couple of weeks ago but couldn’t start straight away as I am newly diagnosed as type 2 diabetic so had to visit a Dr to make sure I was able to do the diet and get some forms signed. This I did straight away, as I am very keen and with being newly diagnosed diabetic this year I really want to do something about it before it shortens my life and the burden I now pose on the NHS with being diabetic and obese.
My Dr gave me the all clear to commence and I stated the diet 31/07/10 on the step 5 1500 programme and will be working down to sole source to allow my body to adjust as I change my medication. My consultant recommended this to me after she had contacted a Cambridge Dr to discuss my diabetes.
Everything has gone well and I have really enjoyed the soups and after a few days I had no real issues and feel fine. I had my first weigh in this morning after 12 days and I am down from 240lb to 230.5lb. 9.5lb in 12 days and I am over the moon, not just with the weight loss but because I have found a diet plan that I can do, enjoy, and really works for me.
I will be doing step 5 for one more week and then I will be down to step 4 1200 calories a day. Since starting I have kept a food diary and counted calories and found that this has really helped me, I am already looking forward to next Wednesday’s weigh in.0 -

I have now lost 12.5lb in just three weeks, hope to have that first stone cracked by next week. Down to 1200 cals a day and I have some bars and shakes to try now along with the soups I've been having already. Everything still going to plan, I have an old pair of jeans that I want to be wearing by 24th September as my first milestone to reach.0

hi, just a little update! Started CD in April finished July. Had a few weekends off towards the end for good behaviour. However, I did lose 42 lb. Just got back off holiday 2.3 weeks and lost 3 lb - I always lose weight on holiday, dont do food and hot weather.
so good luck to the newbies, it's the only diet I've ever stuck to as it's effortless and results are speedy.
I too howled with laughter throughout ww and sw! When the consultant asked me "a lb, how do you feel about a lb?" apart from obviously wanting a refund and to smash her face in I wanted to shout the peter kay line - a lb a !!!!in lb, I could !!!! a lb". I'd never been to a more patronising gaggle of fatties!!0 -

Got my third weigh in tomorrow, I know I've lost weight, I can feel it in my clothes. I haven't really eaten anything I shouldn't have since I started but I may give myself a day off tomorrow.0
