It's fine to split the packs if it works for you. I found that sometimes half a pack was fine but usually I need a full pack to be satisfied and stop thinking about food. So generally I just use full packs. See how you go. If it's day one I would start using full packs. Just try to keep busy between packs and drink plenty of water.

  • Hi everyone, new to this board and just recently finding out about the Cambridge Diet. I suffer with PCOS and have a BMI of 36 so am intrigued about the CD. Partner also wants to lose weight and has been looking at Lighter Life which seems mega expensive to me! Have just seen my friend who's been on the CD for 3 weeks now and has lost a stone, she looks fabulous! I want in but am wondering which plan is best to go for? Any tips, suggestions, experiences? Thanks!

  • Hiya everyone, I'm hoping this thread picks up again. I have been on the Cambridge Diet four times over the past three years. Okay that sounds bad but....this is why...

ist time, starting weight was 10st 11lbs. I was on it for about four weeks I think and got down to 9st 7lbs. I had to stop because I moved area from Hants to East Sussex.

2nd time I used the diet for about another month and lost a bit more although I don;t recall how much!

3rd time I went on the diet I used it for around five weeks. I had a two pund weight gain in the nine months since I last used it so not bad at all. This time I lost 1 stone and 2lb....then I stopped it again! Only 5lbs away from my goal weight! I thought I could loose the last 5lbs myself on my running machine, but, unfortunately you have to actually use a running machine for it to work LOL:eek:

I am starting the diet again on Tuesday, this week coming. I have put on 7lb :o Very annoyed with myself as I know why and I knew when I was over eating that I would regret it!! I have felt a bit depressed lately due to hormone problems and have eaten whatever I wanted, when I fancied it...not recomended!! I now have exactly one stone to loose to get me down to my original goal weight of 7st 7lb, although I will be happy with 7st 10lb. I have set myself a plan of four weeks on the CD which will finish the week before Xmas. If I have any more weight to loose after these four weeks I will start again in the new year.

Just incase you think this is a low goal weight, I should point out that I am only 4ft 11" tall (small!!) and small boned.

The diet is brilliant there is no doubt about it but you need alot of stamina to stick to it and really have to WANT to loose weight, otherwise it is £'s down the drain. The way I have coped with sole source (just packets shakes) each time I have done the diet is to think, this is a very small amount of time in my life that I can't have normal food and although it is hard at first, it is soooo worth it in the end.

To anyone on the diet now my advice is stick at it, yes its hard, ignore the people that say its bad for you. My experience has been that the ones that say this and whinge and moan that you shpuld be going to weight watchers instead, are the ones that can't loose wieght themselves as they don't have the willpower for this diet.

My neighbour often said things like this to me...that I should go to slimming world like she does, but guess who's still fat (fatter)and who's half the size I was:D
