OH MY DAYS guys....just found another is gonna soooo get me through!!! Just found a pic on my PC at work of myself and work mate when i was at my slimest (around 10st 7 lb).....I can't believe how tiny I actually was.....argghhhhh roll on loosing 5 stone to get back there.....in reality how long do you actually think it is going to take, from personal experience?? I'm pretty sure when I did it before it was around 14 weeks to loose 4 st 7 lb.....0
-
hey Herewego! ..
Im so glad youve found your motivation! ... you wanna use that pic as your screen saver or somthing ..brilliant .. they say around 1 stone per month dont they so fingers crossed
...
Im actually feeling a bit grumpy... not sure why, topped it off by having a choc orange warm shake and hating it! i managed about half, and the rest went down the sink! I can see me living on choc and strawb for the next 3 months haha .... Still have a headache to! ...
Hi Hethmar .. im sorry im not sure if you can buy the products online ... it isnt much faffing, just meet weigh chat .. decide what to go for and maybe just measure your waist.. HTH a little bit ...
Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
Herewego.......fantabulous!!!! Its strange how all of a sudden something will trigger that little switch in our heads isn't it. Keep focused - maybe don't look at the total you want to lose and just give yourself half stone targets?
Thank you so much for posting Jellytastic. I am really having to haul myself up to find some willpower at the moment. I have done ok again today and reading your post has helped loads. I too am concerned about loose skin etc. I massage cream into my doughnut tummy everyday, but even so its pretty obvious that with another 3 stone or so its not going to be all ok. Don't know how I feel about surgery though? mmmmm suppose thats a bridge to cross when I need to , certainly don't need to give myself any more to worry about! (besides which I doubt if my 'flexible friend would be that flexible!!!)
Its horrible to have a grumpy day isn't it Piratess, but you have done really well so far:T:T
I have been baking again!! I won't say what I have been cooking 'cos thats not fair.... I can't understand why it helps to cook/bake , come to the conclusion theres a screw loose somewhere:D
.....and back to my fizzy water:rotfl:0 -
HI jjj, below I have ansewred your questions in pink. I am not a CDC (cambridge counseller) so dont take this as the hard and fast rules but they are a guide. If in doubt just phone CD head office or a local counsellerHi, I wonder if any of you would be willing to give me advice. I have been following your thread and you all seem so lovely that I feel that you may help me make a decision.
I am torn between trying CD or going back to Weightwatchers. I have just read in a magazine that Colleen Nolan did CD and lost 3 stones but put it all back on again plus a stone (having said that this is what I did with WW). I have done callorie counting and WW and now CD. WW I lasted 2 weeks, Callorie counting I lost and maintained 2 stone and CD I have lost nearly 7st and counting. There is a chance that you will put on the weight that is why there is a strict re-feed and maintanace plan. Also you have to completely change your eating habits to maintain the weight. In order to be over weight you are either consuming too many callories or anrt excercing enough. You need to change eitehr/both of these to be sucessful at maintaince.
The bad things for me with CD is that you cannot do exercise and I am worried about not toning up as I lose weight. You can excercise on CD, earlier in teh thread you can see runners undertaking CD. If you are a high excerciser before starting CD you may ahev to have 4 instead of 3 packets. If you have never excercised before you are asked to wait untill week 4/5 and then slowly increase your excercise. I cant excercise on this diet due to personal reasons/problems. However excercise is encouraged as you need to do this in maintanceAlso, I am confused about the liquid aspect, does it all have to be water or can you count tea/coffee (without milk) as part of your allowance (I am a tea addict). Ok the min water you need to consume is 2.5 litres per day. They say your shake cant count against this... however tea and coffee can. But I dont count it purely because when water is drunk its a natural substance to flush you out. If however it is in the form of tea/coffee your body then has to subtract the water from the 'tea' before its of any use. If you need to use tea as part of your water intact use a light tea like assam/green tea. Another thing not helping my decision is that I am going to Spain in a couple of weeks and would like to eat something whilst there. If I do SS+ what can you eat? SS+ meal consists of a portion of whaite meat/tuna/white fish/quorn and then 2 table spoons of green veg. The other option is to go onto 810 plan which is a bigger meal much the same or 100 plan which is 2 meals. Again yor CDC can advise on this but jumping up a plain for one week will not alter your diet much
Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble, I suppose what I am basically asking is: a) what made you choose CD over WW and what have you heard about long term weight loss; b) can I drink non-milk tea as part of my fluid allowance; c) do any of you exercise at all; and d) do you think I would be better waiting until I come back from Spain to start CD if this is what I decide, if not what if anthing could I eat for 1 meal a day. I choose CD purely because I need something quick, simple and took me away from food. Callorie counting (and WW) will work but sometimes you need all choice removed simaller to Jenny Craig or a delivered meal plan. You can wait by all means the diet will always be there. Waiting may be easy on your mind set as you can say as on X date I will be lower carbs then X day I am starting CD. Its a persona thing though
I would appreciate any thoughts you have, I do not want to ask a CDC as I am concerned that they may try and sell me the diet just because they want to make money (I know a bit paranoid aren't I?). They will only do this if you allow them. However head office will not try and sell it. Of course all CDC are different they are indivuals that have been on CD themselves. I have had two cracking counseller (one gave up so I went to her sponsor) so no problems. However the one imbetween was a bit off and I reported her. it depends on who you get, ring head office and go with someone who has beena CDC teh longest, however sometimes they arnt the best either, its luck of the draw with this. But remember if you dont like a CDC change, you may be with her for a year or so
Thanks in anticipation.

Hope that helps :beer:How you doing Pap? Hope the coffee day was fun and you got a fandabidozy bag. Kids still off here AND the dog hates the snow, keeps trying to lift all his legs up at once - poor thing can't quite grasp the idea that he'll fall over!
Hi Hunbun, I am here, just lurking and jumping in. Having done this so long and the majority alone I am used to not haiving posts to read so its quite nice :rotfl: Coffee day was today, had major problems etc however it was fun. Thanks for your imput JellyI know that maintance will be the hardest part of this diet and I knew this last year (May) when I started. I will be forever counting callories but I am ok with that. Due to an condition I have I will need to do it anyway. Cambridge will get me to goal weight and then I can maintain.
Well done on getting to goal and staying there you should be really proud of yourself  I am so happy to see other who ahve lost and maintained the amount I need too
Take care
Piratess, well done on getting this fair you are doing so well.. :rotfl: @ Oh and the breath though, I really do think you are either in Ketosis are going in there. Cant wait untill you can test.... I did smile about living on straw and choc forever. For the last 2 month I have only had strawberrys because I went off everything. Now I am eating more though :T
Hope this evening isnt too bad for you :A0 -

Ha Ha I just remembered how much I used to love chocloate orange shake!!! ALso loved the porridge and the bars... if I could afford them I would have them daily even now to help me on my calorie counting.
I bet noone doing diet would believe that you actually miss cambridge products afterwards - but you do!!
Keep up the good work everyone xx0 -
Hey everyone!! :hello:
Couldnt wait to rush on here tonight and see how everyone has got on.
Herewegoagain - So chuffed you found some motivation, it wont be long till you are looking at that picture and thinking of it as you at your "normal" weight not your lightest!!!
Piratess - How good are you in Tesco - I had to go in there today and panicked, I've somehow got it into my head that if I touch the food, I'll automatically put it in my mouth.
Hunbun - Totally agree with you about the baking / cooking. I LOVE cooking and it doesn't bother me one bit that I dont get to eat it.
PAP - You're just a wealth of knowledge - are you thinking about becoming a cdc when you've reached goal cause I think you'd be really good
I've had a weird day - I woke up and at 6 and didn't feel like anything to eat at all. I'm normally starving at 9am for toast but today I had to force myself to eat the porridge I took to work at 10am and I had 2 mouthfuls and threw it away. I expected to be hungry then at dinner time but no I wasn't too fussed about my soup (Chicken Mushroom - so so!!) and only managed to eat half. It was oriental chilli for the whih is not as bad as the rumours. So then I thought I'd see if I was in ketosis - I had bought some Ketostix and it came up as the 2nd pink one - that can't be right can it??? I only started yesterday, I made OH be the control subject and made him test himself and he came up negative... How strange!!0 -
Ooooooooooo will await Paps word! ... i reckon thats you in magic land hunny ? .
Cant wait to get a defo answer on this ! surley it must mean im in it to !!!!!!Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
Should be - I went on another forum and they said that if you follow it to the T you should be in on the third day - my CDC said to test myself on Friday but I just find it stange (and very exciting!!) if I am, I do feel a different hunger on this diet then on any that I've been on before - I'm hungry but it's a managable hunger - which make me think it's head hunger and not tummy hunger, on other diets I've been on I've been like "If I don't eat this very second I will DIE from being that hungry" :rotfl::rotfl:Does anyone else feel like that or i it just me??
Right - off to test again - will update in a minute!!0 -

Hi Stokey
I do want to become a CDC but it depends on if my counseller will sponsor me and also if its viable. If I am in a fulltime job then it will be a no but at the momment I really want toI guess after reading so much about VLCD's and CD and also being on it so long it makes me a good candidate.
If the stick says you are you are hunni :T How you got there could be one of many things. If you reduced your carbs before your diet, if you burn through your stores fast, if you have drunk lots of water or purely because you have. Did you drink anything with sugar (ie tablet sweetners in tea/coffee) in prior to testing though? That could be a cause...
The best thing to do to check 100% is go to the loo before bed then drink a glass of water. Try not to go to the loo again before the morning. Then test by passing the stick through your urine mid flow. If you turn pink then you are :j Its different for everyone though, I took 4 days, after christmas I took 3days. I know someone who didnt show till day 5 its different for everyone :rotfl:Ooooooooooo will await Paps word! ... i reckon thats you in magic land hunny ? .
Cant wait to get a defo answer on this ! surley it must mean im in it to !!!!!!
Not ness, everyones differnt. However your symptoms would sway me to saying you are or will be tommorow. I sent you some pee stick I guess they are held up cause of thr snow
***Please dont get hung up on ketosis though. If you are eating so few callories you must be losing weight. However ketosis helps with the hunger etc**0
