Well I've just had my dinner - lactose free leek and potato soup and how yummy is that... :j:j I added a bit of black pepper but really didn't need to, it was so yummy, I can see that being a firm favourite, DS is refusing his dinner though and I'm resisiting the temptation to finish it for him - 3 cheese ravoli with a cheese sauce this time instead of baby food!!

Piratess - how are you managing to only eat half?? I wolfed my soup down, it didn't seem to fill me up as much as the shake, is that normal?

Here's a bit too much detail... but I managed to drink the pint by 1pm but then immediately threw the entire pint up after, i cant wait to go back to work tomorrow I love spending time with DS but I've just made him cottage pie after his refusal of pasta and it's so strange catching myself going to lick the spoon after him or licking my fingers when i get some on them, I never recognised that I did it

OH wont be in till 7.30 this evening at least I dont have to cook for him - I use to batch cook so he has about 2 weeks worth of meals in the freezer. I want to clean up but DS screams if I leave the room - he's really being clingy at the moment cause he's poorly - bless!! I'm trying to distract him by putting playhouse disney on but he's having none of it :rotfl:
  • Hi guys
Yea am still struggling on through day 4  from what i remember last time (and the umpteen times i've tried to do this before) day 4 is usually the worst....am thinking worst case i will have 4 packs instead of 3....has to be better than eating

Unfortunately I can't help with the water issue....i drink it religiously all the time....around 4-5 litres a day...only because i don't drink tea or coffee or anything!

PIRATEES - ahhh lets see if we can both get til the 8th march before we have a 'mini' treat....am really determined this time but its just so darn hard !

I know i HAVE to do it this time, i have a wardrobe full of clothes that no longer fit me as are too small and am desperate to get back into them and get my 'confidence' back....just feel i seem to be putting my life on hold at the moment because i feel too hideous to venture out....roll on maintenance :D
  • Ohhh just one incentive i can pass along, it may help or may not....i have a little chart with the dates on - a calender basically stating the number of days, along with the date - every evening i give myself a little tick to say i've completed the day 100%.....small things but helps me :rotfl::rotfl:

You just described the past 4 years of my life...

Refusing to go out so that people dont look at me
Feeling embarassed in clothes stores because they don't go up to my size
Avoiding people that I haven't seen in a while so they don't comment on my weight gain

  • Hi, I wonder if any of you would be willing to give me advice. I have been following your thread and you all seem so lovely that I feel that you may help me make a decision.

I am torn between trying CD or going back to Weightwatchers. I have just read in a magazine that Colleen Nolan did CD and lost 3 stones but put it all back on again plus a stone (having said that this is what I did with WW).

The bad things for me with CD is that you cannot do exercise and I am worried about not toning up as I lose weight. Also, I am confused about the liquid aspect, does it all have to be water or can you count tea/coffee (without milk) as part of your allowance (I am a tea addict). Another thing not helping my decision is that I am going to Spain in a couple of weeks and would like to eat something whilst there. If I do SS+ what can you eat?

Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble, I suppose what I am basically asking is: a) what made you choose CD over WW and what have you heard about long term weight loss; b) can I drink non-milk tea as part of my fluid allowance; c) do any of you exercise at all; and d) do you think I would be better waiting until I come back from Spain to start CD if this is what I decide, if not what if anthing could I eat for 1 meal a day.

I would appreciate any thoughts you have, I do not want to ask a CDC as I am concerned that they may try and sell me the diet just because they want to make money (I know a bit paranoid aren't I?).

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi JJJ13

Im new to CD Pap is definatly the one that has all the ins and outs lol ...

Ive done Ww and SW lost 2 stone which took months and months and then regained it plus more besides .. so i definatly wouldnt say this diet causes that, I think its a brain thing, when you start eating again you need to follow somthing sensible for ever and not go back to your old ways
(which is what got us here in the first place)
The thing that made me decide CD was firstly the fact that it takes choices away from me ... i have a shake and thats that, i know i dont have to do portion control and as usual make bad choices ..
Im hoping to retrain my brain and my way of thinking as i go thro this journey ...

Im not sure but i think if you already do excersize you can carry on as long as it isnt power training or 10 mile runs etc because your body just isnt getting the calories.

You can have your tea as your allowance just no milk .. and any sweetner should be tablet form and not powder ...

I know food wise it is very limited but im not 100% sure on foods cos im doing SS .. i do know howevre you get chicken or white fish and certain veg .. but servings of veg is like 2 tblsp .. thats it ..

Hope this helps a little, Im only on day 3 so still learning all about it myself :)
Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!
  • STOKEGAL - i'm sure we are not alone....i find i turn down invitation after invitation for a night out or night in...shopping trip....anything, you name it!! I used to love clothes shopping when i was at goal weight, it was fantastic so i'm trying to keep movitated by using that ! i never have been confident in myself, but when i was slim i definately had more, used to love going out with the girls !! Roll on 15 or so weeks time....hopefully will be right back up there at the top feeling on top of the world....as much as i crave food, it never lives up to being thin!!

PIRATEES - definately worth a shot, it makes me feel like i can tick another day off, another day closer to goal :j:beer:

i'm ok now, managed to stick to it with no blips so another 100%....will be ok once i escape from work, thats when i find it hardest to be honest !! I'd love to come on here more in the evenings but unfortunately i don't have a laptop or PC access....can't afford the whole landline thingy etc  am looking into the whole getting internet access with the free laptop with a mobile deal....anyone have any experience with this?? I think O2 etc offer it if you sign up for a 2 years or something.... definately will keep me occupied here, and facebook of course !!

oh well enough rambling, time to put the wellies back on and walk home in the snow...am thinking of the bonus gentle exercise !! see you guys on day 5 :D
