Hi Sarah, welcome to the CD thread :j Firstly if you have a bmi of over 40 you will need to get a medical form signed by your doctor. The CDC will give you the form free but it may mean starting a week later. If you are under 40bmi and have no underlying medical conditions you will start straight away.
At your first meeting you will be bombarded with leaflets (at least I was) about the plans, nutritonal info etc etc. She/he may go through one of the books with you but the others just read at leasire. Then you will be weighed, measurements taken and a picture taken. Dont worry your pic will not be used publicly its just to see how far you have come when you reach goal. You will then purchase your 'food'.
It depends on your height and which plan you are on but a female under 5ft 8" gets three packs a day. You can buy soup/shakes/porrige and tetras on your first week and bars/mousse mix on your third week. It will vary from CDC as to how much they charge but at the momment I pay £1.70 for soup/shakes/porrige and £1.95 for my tetras. In all for one week (21 packs) I spend around £33~£35, however you can buy a fibre supplement too which I buy most weeks which bump the price up. Generally I never spend over £40 a week.
Hope that helps and good luck with the meeting0 -
Hiya,
Yes I am still sticking to it. Went to see my CDC on Thursday, and she changed me over to the Tetra ones, and now im feeling good again.
Im pleased with this
Thanks for the support0 -
Thanks for the advice. You're right, I will eat at different times to the kids and just not make a meal of it (no pun intended!!!!!!). I think I am just scared of failing in the battle of the bulge - yet again.......However, I have now found out where my local cdc is and am phoning her on Tue......wish me luck!! x0

Thank you for your message postingalwaysposting - it was so kind. I am still plugging away and a week in appear to have lost 5lbs - I am seeing my CD on Tuesday so 10 days will have gone by. Either my scales or my body is strange though because I have sometimes gained and another morning I have lost. I guess that we don't lose weight in a straight line and my poor body seems to be hanging on to every last pound at the moment!
Good luck to everyone out there doing the diet....it is not easy but it will be worth it, I know!0 -
I am on three chocolate tetras a day btw - but thinking I might have a change this week...not sure what to yet!0

Se, So glad to see you sticking at it. Once you get into a routine it will be second nature. Tetras are fab is you feel like you are having something 'normal' as opposed to packet stuff. I hope your weigh in is fab :j Remember though an extra glass of water with each tetra.
hunbun, Well done on having the courage to phone, I hope it goes well todayPlease keep us updated...
LittleMitten, I have my fingers crossed for a big loss this week for you. Your body will get used to the diet and hopefully your weight loss will become consistent. However dont be alarmed if it doesnt as long as its shifting. Remember its not a race we will all get there in our own time :j Regarding the change of food I love strawberry tetras because they are really swet, they arnt what everyone likes though :rolleyes: Ps call me Pap, saves all the typing
Brightonsunshine, Hello and welcome to the CD thread. I hope your meeting goes well with your CDC today. Just remember she has been there and know what it is like. Dont worry about how long your journey will be, I will be here a fair few months yet keeping the thread going. Good luck
~~~
So its been a while. I havent weighed in this week because its was a quick stop with my CDC to pick up my last supplies. I have now got two weeks supplies ready and will be seeing a new CDC on the 13th. I have found someone who sounds lovely and not much farther from my old CDC. So I am booking an appointment for her this weekend :j I should have 3weeks weightloss then, I hope its a big one but I did have a bit of food this weekendBack to 100% for all of september now before I move up the plans for my holiday :j
Y'know pap, you seem to be supporter for all on here, I do hope you are doing ok and get the support that you need. I have left a message for the cdc lady, she is on holiday at the moment. Hopefully she will get back to me. I am actually quite excited at the prospect of starting something completely different to anything I have ever done before. Will let you know when she phones.
By the way, 2 questions....how do you put the smiley face things on your post, and is there a way of finding this thread quickly 'cos it takes me ages to get to the right site and page!!!!! (now I really do feel like a dumbo!)0 -
Hunbun, you are so sweet. I just like to help others on the CD journey. I researched this diet over such a long period of time even my old CDC was impressed :rotfl: Now I just like to pass on that knowledge and support others... however please please go to your CDC with anything you are totally unsure of as she/he should know all the definate answers :j
I am doing fine with the diet, I did eat the weekend but I guess it was emotinal eating/stress from work and losing my counseller. I am fine with it though and back on 100% SS today. I am planning to stick to CD for 100 days now, as it will then go alongside a debt challenge I am running. I have got my holiday in a month or so though but I am planning to go onto a higher plan that week :j
Your CDC will be fine, I was super scared at first but as soon a I had done it there was no going back. Now you have left that message you wont think twice. I hope she contacts you soon. Fingers crosed you can start soon. Take care
