Hello all,
This isn't going well at all. I started on this diet yesterday morning. had all 4 shakes/soups yesterday and lots of water. got up this morning had a shake and water.
they are making me feel so sick and ill. they taste horrible, i don't know what to do.
I am sticking to it 100% and still will, but cant go on much longer feeling like this.
I dont want to give up.
any help appreciated
many thanks xx0 -
Hi sexyeyes - DON'T GIVE UP, your mind and body are telling you that this is strange, not right, horrible, whatever, but firstly your body is finding it odd that you're not having your usual food and is querying it. The first few days are the hardest, hopefully your CDC told you that, if you've been a coffee drinker, you'll have some withdrawal symptoms, ditto with wheat/yeast etc.
I read a good book before I started LL which said that basically we do get addicted to processed foods, and that lots of people are actually slightly intolerant of them, but our body perversely craves them!
Also....and this is a really valid point, the author said that it's not unusual to dislike something completely different the first time you have it - think back to the first time you tried alcohol of any kind. Did you love it? It's quite unlikely, especially with something less sweet, like beer. But, you probably persevered, as people around you told you that it was great stuff.
You can train your mind to like anything (with the possible exception of brussel sprouts, lol). Don't give up, we are all here behind you
I know I'm doing something different, LL rather than CD, but I know that CD has a huge variety of flavours, so keep trying different soups and shakes until you find the combination that works best for you. Whilst I like 99% of the LL flavours, there are 3 that I LURVE, so I tend to stick to them.
Good luck!0 -
I am new to this forum and am having a few probs with the diet. This is my second time around as the first time I bought the diet from Ebay ( I know, I know ) and did really well losing two stones and looking great. Sadly like a fool I went back to my really unhealthy eating habits and grew large again and added an extra stone to my weight in the process.
So here I am again with a counsellor and on SS and in ketosis now for three days ( I started SSing 6 days ago ) and I am losing NO WEIGHT! How can this be? I thought that if you were in ketosis you lost weight......this morning I am a pound heavier than yesterday. I am very overwweight at 5ft 2 and a whopping 12 stones 5....starting to feel so dipirited as last time it was so easy and that was just two years ago...gutted and on the point of giving up.0 -

oh little kitten.... first things first. 5'2" and 12stone something is not whopping!!
and you cannot fail to lose weight on this diet... i am a serial scale hopper so i know that it is a major case of pot/kettle/black but daily scales are not theway forward....
make sure you are drinking enough as well as the water is at least 50% of the battle here as you need to flush your system out too....
it'll drop before the week is out i assure you....
water water water! and keep doing what you're doing babes..!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
And Maz - I just wanted to say that your pics and incredible and what an inspiration you are! I just want it to work for me too.0
-
Thanks - so it's water that I need more of? I will up it to three litres and see what happens. You are so right that this diet cannot fail to work can it? That's why I am a bit confused this time around.
I feel crap too...typical early ketosis feelings but I don't usually mind this as the scales keep me happy! But currently I am feeling rubbish and not losing....grrrr.
Will not let my fat beat me however! Onwards!0 -
Hi there. Just joined and am looking into doing the Cambridge Diet. Am worried though about giving the wrong messages to the kids, I know that healthy living and lifestyle is the way to go but I need to lose the weight to get there!!!!! Have just found out got severe pcos. I don't know anything about the condition (yet!), but have been told I will have difficulty losing weight and must cut out all carbs. Hence looking at CD. Sorry for woffling. Any advice??0

Hi all :hello: essay from me beore I post an update :rotfl:
Maz ~ You arnt a fraud at all, its fab for newcomers to 'see' someone who is maintaining. Great pics btw, you look amazing :j
Duncan ~ So nice to se you back on teh diet, as you say if you forever put it off you will never do it. I hope your first week has been fabby and you are less bloated already.
Apha ~ Good luck with the move, hope you are online soon. Take it steady and good luck when you start back on CD.
Cherry ~ wow week 3 already, you are doing so well :T
Se ~ Glad your meeting went well, a fab CDC helps so much. Sorry to hear you arnt getting on very well but are Kitikins says please dont give up. Having shakes is a shock to your system but once your body knows its that or nothing it will soon come around to the idea. If you dont like a shake have a different one/try a different preperation. I hope you are still getting on with it... *hugs*
Mitten ~ I agree with Maz, 12st is certainly not whopping, although I guess you could feel like that. As Maz says up the water a little, also dont scale hop :rotfl: I do hope the remainder of your week has gone well and you lose a lot on the scales, you can beat the fat :j
Hunbun ~ I will address your points in order. Regarding giving the wrong mesage to your children well thats a problem someone who used to be on this thread had. I guess you will ahve to decide for yourself if you should attempt this diet. However maybe if you can start eating seperately befroe you start so they wont know anything different. Also are they easily influenced? Could you explain to them and let them get their head around the idea?
Regarding pcos a lot of people on this thread have been diagnosed with this ~ including me. However I haven't had any support from my GP so dont know how to deal with diet/symptoms so I am just getting on with it. I gave coped for over 4.5 years so I am not too bothered. Cd is the only way I have lost weight though, but I do see smaller and unconsistant losses compared to tye Cd 'average'. This doent bother me to much as I know I will get there but a bit slower. The only other problem I have found is when I was allowed bars I couldnt have them as I am super carb senstive so it woould knock me out of ketosis, but I can live with that. My symptoms haven't eased but I have started my periods having only had one all my life. So I guess it does help
Hope that helps....0 -
Ok so since I have updated I have had another loss :j still a 100% and loving it. Today though has been a semi good/bad day...
When I started Cd I brought a blender that was on sale and its been fine for 16 weeks. However now I live of choc icecream made from a choc powdered shake. This envolves ice and my blender working too hard, well tonight it strated smoking and Mum thought I was setting fire to the kitchen :rotfl: So now I have to go and buy a new blender!
Anyways a good thing today is I am finally in a 18 bottoms. I was about 4 weeks ago but I didnt feel comfortable in them and only wore them on special occasions. Anyways my work trouser this week have been falling down  They are 20 but have elastic in the back so although they were too baggy on me I could keep them up... no longer! So that was cool :j
But a big upset tonight. I came home and about 2hours ago my CDC emailed to say she was giving up CD. I totally understand though because she has been offered more hours in her main job. So I am seeing her next sunday for the last timeAlthough I am really upset I wish her all the best. So I am now looking for a new CDC. I have a weeks suppy here then Sunday I will have another week so I need to find a CDC for the 13th
Ah well next chapter :beer:0 -
