    At last some good news...4.2lbs off. Only 1 st left to go now til target..OMG!! At the start of this back in Feb I couldn't imagine only having a stone to go!! Thanks for the kind words re the job. I'm gutted cos I actually love this job and it took me ages to get it and now I've got to do it all again. Never mind...at least I'll be slim for all these interviews!
  • Hello lovelies!

    Sorry I've neglected my posts these last few days!
    Busy, busy weekend!! Lol

    Well, I had my takeaway Fri night (just to bung some fat back onto my liver so I could have a few sherries at the bbq on Sat, of course)..
    Anyway, it wasn't all that! Ended up leaving most of it, lol.

    So, on Sat it was the bbq party! In the end all I ate was half a jacket spud and a spoonful of rice. I had a shake as normal for breakfast.
    Booze wise I had 5 bottles of VK...then stopped. Felt fine but decided to glug water instead.

    So then Sunday came around. My day to get back on it. But I didn't...ended up having a burger & piece of cake that I didn't have the day before. Oh and bucket loads of water!

    Back on plan today though....I stocked up well on Cappachino shakes mmmm!!
    I had my weigh in Sat morn and it showed a loss of 3lbs! Not bad after such good losses the two weeks previously! Also, I'd had the takeaway the night before and it was TOTM...So I wasn't dispointed.

    Well, I'm still as determined as ever.....So here's to my 4th week!

    xoxox
    !!73lb lost!!
    29th June 2010 - Present Day

    Thank you Cambridge :D

    Hey all.

    So I went for my weigh-in last night and I'm 15 stone 12 pounds, which is cool because it's the lowest I've been in a good ten years or so. That puts me at less than 2 stone off my desired target.

    I just wanted to ask about exercise... what's the word on how much a guy like me can do? I'm still on SS, but I'm tempted to notch my intake up to 5 packs a day rather than the recommended 4 (or 4 packs and a bar), when it comes to exercise. Does that sound reasonable?

    I was thinking of doing an hour a day, three times a week, with 45 minutes on the cross trainer and 10 minutes on rowing machine - this added to my daily walks of just over 8 miles. Does this sound like overkill?

    hi guys.... am not SSing at the moment.. have been too busy with housemove/break up etc.

    Weighed in at leisure centre yesterday and have stayed the same, 11:11 so am happy all things considered...!

    Well done to all the losses guys, you're all doing brill....!

    Gilzor - IMHO you could maybe add a wee meal on exercise days rather than a 5th pack... seems so much more civilised...

    well done on getting so near goal!

    Hi and Welcome Purple Bead.....

    First of all, well done - you've done the hardest part by accepting that you want to do something about your weight.

    I'm sure you'll be fine speaking to the CDC, I was almost in tears when I was speaking to mine, but as I'm actually doing something about my weight I thought this was the best way forward :)

    I don't like porridge but just to give me something to chew (you'll see what I mean when you start the diet) I tried the apple and cinammon, it's actually very nice, you can use sweetners for tea and coffee so I'm not too sure if you can use it to 'sweeten' your porridge, might be worth asking your CDC about that.

    GOOD LUCK and I'm sure you will do just fine. We are a good bunch on here, but if you need a forum that's more fast moving try www.minimins.com and see the Cambridge Diet section.

  • Hey does anyone find that their gums and teeth hurt at times??
  • Bana ~ Well done on your weightloss (20/7) of 3lbs, its slowly coming off eh :j Sorry to hear you are suffering with migraines, not too good. I hope they pass soon.

    Poggy ~ So sorry to hear you are in line for redundancy, not too good. Fingers crossed for you. Fantastic news on you 4lb weightloss :j Only a stone to go eh, that will be gone in no time!

    Cathy ~ Sorry you have been having a tough few weeks. Glad to se you lost 3lb though thats fabby :j Good luck for your fourth week :D

    Glizor ~ Well done on being the lowest weight ever! Thats such a great motivator. Regards to excercise I think you need to listen to your body and if after excercise you feel you need an extra pack/bar then go ahead. I know Maz use to have a extra pack when she went running. 1 hour three times a week sounds resonable just dont over do it.

    Maz ~ Well done sts and good luck in your new chapter :T

    Purple ~ Welcome to the Cd thread and I understand your need for a new user name. I did read you post days agao but haven't posted. I was going to mention the docs signature but you have now found out. I dont know what you CDC has said but I needed to take the form to my pratice myself and have a doc appointment :confused: Then once that has been done and I started having packs the CDC informed my practice too taht I was on SS/SS+. Have you been given a medical form that needs signing by your doctor :confused: Either way good luck, its actually simple once you start but please dont fall off the wagon... it was easier when I didnt 'know' what I was missing :rolleyes:

    Lime ~ Yes my gums are always sore on this diet and my teeth has become super sensitive. I find now I cant drink hot tea anymore :rolleyes: I can only link it to CD :confused:

    ~~~~
    So I last posted 19/7 when I had the news taht I put on 1lb. I have been going alone now for a wheek and I am into my second of 3 weeks alone. Last week I cant say I was 100% but I gave it my best shot :rolleyes: However I now have to be 100% for two weeks ~ no failing! Thats why I have come to this thread with extra determination. So I have proposed a mini challange for myself and I have to complete 36days (this week plus all of August) 100%. Now if I fail I have to put into my savings £5 for each time I cheat :eek:
    That should get me back on track :j
    Please keep updating guys I love to hear how everyones day has been etc...
    Take care :beer:
  • Thankyou PaP :)
    She filled in the answers to all the medical questions (heart/stroke etc etc) which were all 'no', apart from being horribly overweight, I don't have any other conditions which affect this kind of thing and said because my bmi was over 40 (no surprise there - I already knew that!) she would do a letter and put it through the door of my GP's practice with the form and ask them to email/phone/write with their 'ok'. I gave her my GP name etc and she said if I hadn't heard from her in 4-5 days, to email her and she'd chase them. With my GP being away, I'm just not sure they will say yes without seeing me and I see this dragging on for weeks :(
    Because she has recommended 810 rather than SS or SS+ for me, I was a bit confused because the booklet says 810 doesn't need a doctor's signature :confused: I also asked on the CD forum and was told I could have started with the 1200 plan until the permission came back, but this wasn't mentioned to me :confused:
    She said that studies show that over 6 months, those on 810 lose only 1-2 pounds less than those on SS or SS+, and I thought she was going to say this was a good option for me, but still insisted on the form going to my GP.
    I think I must be the heaviest person she has ever seen - she asked my weight and I said 22 stone 12:o (I had weighed myself) and she said 'oh let me check my scales just in case - oh they are fine they go up to over 28 stone' :o:o:o
    Hi again Purple
    Ohhh I never knew tht CDC's would do sort out the medical form for you. For me and other on minimins the onus has been on you and I had to arrange an appointment with my doctor myself. My CDC posted me the form and I just filled it and went to the doctor at my appointment and she signed it and I started CD on the Sunday. I wonder why your CDC is doing it for you :confused:
    Regarding the 810 plan that as far as i know needs a signature too. The only plan that doesnt is the 1200 because its not low calorie/very low calorie. So if she wants you to do that plan you would still need a doctors signature. I cant tell you the difference in weight loss because I dont know it. Although I know there is only a 1lb/2lb difference between SS and SS+. I dont know how that can be the same for 810? Again I cant comment because I dont know...
    As for the scales thing maybe you are the biggest she has seen but there are bigger people on CD elsewhere. I know of someone on minimins that had to be weighed at the doctors rather than with the CDC because domestic scales only weigh up to 28stone. Please dont let that worry you. The best bit is the heavier you are the faster you lose it on the SS plan. So you may have a fantastic first month :T
    Keep us updated and I hope you can begin CD very soon. I love CD its simple and easy... untill you fall off the wagon! The thing I would say is try everything/every flavour. If you dont open packets your CDC should swap them for you free so if you do have too many of one flavour one week I tryed everything and now I am down to 3 shakes and 1/2 pre made ones. Your tastes will change throughout the diet but dont worry about that :D
    Take care :T
