    Yorkshire Tea....All the Way!!

Lancastrian born here. That's a phrase you will never hear me say:rotfl:

On a more serious note I actually don't like the taste. I prefer Tetley. Tho Cafedirect is very nice from the freebies I had and Sainsburys Basics is also fairtrade and almost as good. Still will keep some Tetley for best and treats and use (and reuse) the Basics ones for general usage.

we have stainless steel teapot with removable mesh strainer bought at wilkinsons for 9.99 the mesh thingy lifts out and used leaves get emptied into the compost. we use loose tea leaves and prefer 2 spoons of sainsburys red label tea mixed with 1 spoon earl gray this makes a full pot.
if there is any left in the pot from breakfast cuppa - when i get home from work i will pour a cup of black tea and 'nuke' it in the microwave for 1 minute then add milk tastes fine and i dont have to wait.

i wonder if it would not be better to tea bags in a teapot then a couple of tea bags can make 3-4 cups of tea plus the mugs dont get so stained with tea brewing in them.
  • Best mug of tea recently was at a church hall cafe - Salvation Army - freshly brewed, as weak/strong as you like, served with a smile, 45p. And didn't matter that I'm a heathen.

We used to drink PG tips until I got fed up with the price.

We tried Lidl value tea but not quite the same.

Then we tried Sainsbury Basic - to be quite honest I do notice a slight difference but it is actually qutie nice tea and I will not be changing back anytime soon.

If I had a Sainsbury anywhere near where I live I'd be checking out their 28p Basics.

Some months ago (I think) Lidl were offering a 160 bags for the price of 80 at £1.57, and as I'd heard about the prices going up I bought about four packs. Just went in there last week and they have the same offer back on again. I now have enough tea-bags to last me for about a year, so if unemployment happens at least I can afford a few cuppas a day

snap!!! i find morisons early grey cheapest! Did you buy the teapot recently as my whitards one has just bitten the dust and is going to make crocks for my pots in the greenhouse! It's just what I'm looking for. I often buy whiytads tea/coffee when they sell it off it's often 99p a pack and lovely too. Look for the baskets on the floor of the shop. I bought some gorgeous almon tea once it was 99p and I bought the lot as it was previously £5!
