Well I'm going to have to lock in today at some point I need some money by a week today to use in the States so just going to have to choose the right moment.

Is there a consensus that the strengthening of the pound V the dollar will continue or are we going to plateau?

1.6 USD to the GBP is probably a fair and equal rate, would love for it to be back to 2.0 though!

if u can be bothered to read it, my post 668 might help....

  • I've been following the rate very closely for about 6 months.
I changed at 1.5350 and it's now 10c. I haven't used the money yet (delay on house / car purchase) so I think we can be pretty sure how good I am at predicting rates...
The "experts" don't have a clue either. It normally does the opposite of what they say!
Saying that, I was extremely happy at the time to trade at over 1.50...

    "extremely happy" ????

    u were doing bl00dy cartwheels !!!

Well I wanted to work. I refuse to accept the US is no longer a part of the British Empire.
On many times I've wound up over excitable yanks by telling them the US is still pink on all school taught geography books. Indicating they are still in the empire. Poor little sausages fall for it too :)

Not another great trading day I see.

Wilto - what did you trade at in the end?

Anyway. I have no time to talk. There are cloudless blue skies and golf courses to be taken apart.

    Have fun boys (and girls)

    I locked in at 1.6108 with xe.com.

So I will get $8054 from my £5000.

Looks like the rate has improved a little bit but still happy at 1.6108
