Thanks for this. I took the gamble:D.what? $1.5925 for topping up my fairfx.... who's broken the exchange rate..
and I"m still grinning at that $1.7401 I got for my money pre ordered...
https://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/content/cancelled-currency-contracts.asp
still some left at other rates...
I ordered my holiday money at $1.7699 for delivery after 4/5/10.
I thought that even if the dollar was to go up, it wouldn't go up much more than this (will it:o)?
Either way, its way better than the rate I had last year... $1.46:rolleyes:If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

I would be very happy with that rate. the rate hasn't gone over 1.70 for a number of months. there was a reporm about 100 major banks that had their forecast rate for the next 12 months. They varied from about 1.45 to 2.00 if memory serves me right... so they aint got a clue...newish2this wrote: »Thanks for this. I took the gamble:D.

The rate is a gamble. I moved over the US in April of last year. Transferred over £20k @ 1.51!!! Transferred another 20K @ 1.65 a few months later... there's quite a bit of difference in the amount you come out with!0 -

05:03 13Jan10 GBP/USD: Cable Jumps On Guardian Rate Rise Article
Sydney, January 13.
Cable has just moved sharply from 1.6160 to 1.6193 with an article in the U.K
Guardian more than likely the catalyst. In an interview with MPC member Sentence he mentions the need for the MPC to adopt a "wait and see" approach to policy now that the economy was showing signs of bouncing back and the current QE program was coming to an end.
Nothing new has been said but this does represent a change in stance, more to a neutral position than to a hawkish one, with the move in Asia likely due to thin market conditions and the attractiveness of stops parked above 1.6200. Cable was last at 1.6189.Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

I ordered with crown currency at the same rate a few days ago. So they've got £1200 of mine for a few months.
I bought euro's from them last summer and the service was seamless so I've no reason to suspect anything will go wrong.
I cant see the rate going any higher than this in 3 months.0
