Is this like the pay scale you're slagging off? calling the Bus Mgr a failed CSO?

I thought CA3 was a cashier, just asked the same LBM you were commenting on who said it was a cashier

Shall i just stop getting facts from her?

The 3 indicates they're in the same pay grade, but an LBM3 is a Local Business Manager, where as a CA3 is a Personal Banker.

Over the years, as the Personal Banker job got tougher and the sales targets got harder, a lot of people "flaked out"... and promptly moved in to the much easier job of business banking.

    Yeah, you probably should.

I have 2 visa cards from HSBC both with £100 Cheque Guarantee hologram on the back. These were sent in the last month or so if that helps. One is from a grad account, the other a Plus account

I have a Maestro £250 CGCard, I have had it for years, on an Advance Account, the day HSBC attempt to offer me anything less, or Visa a based card is the day that I go elsewhere.

Where to now, then? Your Maestro will be gone soon rather than later. Natwest/RBS is switching to Visa.

Does anybody else even still use Maestro?

Any why the borderline fanatical love for Maestro?

My main reason is that I can buy foreign currency online with no charges with it, this does not apply to Visa purchases.

My second reason is that I am very concerned about the apparent monopoly that Visa will have over us all.

BTW, my Goldfish CC which was taken over by BarclayCard just happens to be a MasterCard, part of Maestro.;) ( No doubt that will soon get replaced with yet another Visa offering.. )..

Most banks issue Visa Debit and Electron Cards for their bank accounts and MasterCard Credit Cards. If memory serves HBOS actually switched from Visa Credit Cards to MasterCard Credit Cards while maintaining Visa Debit and Electron as the cards used for their bank account range. Visa are obviously doing something Maestro aren't in the debit card market which MasterCard are doing in the credit card market.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Fair enough, thanks for the info.

Maestro's a product by MasterCard, not the other way around... and they're actually completely different - Maestro and MasterCard cards, that is. Hence MasterCard Debit existing too, etc.
