And before I forget, count us in for Toots collective positive thinking ;) Personally the evening would be better for us, but happy to go with the majority.

    Evening all :D

I've been shopping, watched the Grand Prix, watched The Elephant Man, S & S kitchen and bathroom and had a very big tidy up of the cupboard where my cross stitch stuff (amongst other stuff) lives. It's all sorted in little drawers and magazine holders and all fits beautifully so I am very pleased :D

Glamazon - no kitchen stools or step ladders please!

greenbee - I'm available for vibes tomorrow morning or evening but am out at football in the afternoon

Quillion - glad you had a nice day and thank you for doing the stars this week

[QUOTE=kazmeister;21831435LS the fire places we were lucky with as they are original although the white marble one downstairs DD drew a circle on it in orange felt pen when she was 3 (and its still there as I cant get it off). Are you far from Norwich?

    [/QUOTE]

Thought they looked original ( I suffer from fire place envy LOL )......I'm actually in Norwich itself, noticed you were in West Norfolk, feeling slightly excited that I might live near another flylady :D

Lilysue I worked out you're in Norfolk as you obviously support the best team in East Anglia but didn't realise you were in Norwich. Norwich is where I consider home as I brought my kids up in that fine city. My daughter still lives there

    Hi everyone.

Not had chance to log on for last couple of days. Been busy around the house. We had IL's round for tea yesterday so we had toad in the hole (HM of course) which was really nice.

Today we've pottered in the garden. I did do all the ironing though and made cornflake cakes with DD1 after she did all her homework. She's glad she's done it straight away so she can forget about it for the rest of the holidays.

Hope everyone's all ok. Glad to see a few more posts from Pigpen...hopefully you're on the mend now.

Need to get back on track next week...the house is a tip!

No, I haven't - sounds interesting. My garden isn't a mess but isn't manicured and pristine either. There is an enormous pile of pine needles under the laurel hedge which I refuse to move because that's where hedgehog hibernates and nurtures her babies each year.

The mint stays (although I try to keep it under control) because the cutest, tiniest little mint moth comes every year to live on it.

One year, an enormous teasel grew out of nowhere (must have been 6 foot high at least!) but I kept it there and let it live its life out - the amount of bee activity on it when it was in flower phenomenal
I love teasels - they are so beautiful - in bloom and when they have finished. Here, have a peek at this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/wildaboutyourgarden/

Hope your neighbour is OK - I know the tradition for closing curtains and blinds as it is followed a lot in our family, usually the curtains/blinds are shut the night before the funeral and not opened until returning for the wake (a neighbour or friend usually does this after we have all left). Not sure how it works when someone has just died, haven't seen it then, but traditions vary from area to area don't they. Hope all is well.

What is the "Toots collective positive thinking" bit? Sounds like a plan to me. count me in (once I know what it is )

Well, haven't managed the wardrobe, but am dismantling the box I had on my old chest at the moment - it's sitting on the landing getting in the way! I have also updated my diary as I needed to confess a sin... :o (please don't tell me off too much valli & greenbee :rotfl:) and am going to have a shower soon, as I really need one (phew!)

Soappie, I hope your neighbours are alright, if all the curtains are closed it does sound like there might be bad news.
I've been wondering if somethings happened to the man in the house opposite us. He goes out several times a day in his white van and does all the gardens round here. But I haven't seen him for days now, and his wife has been going out on her own which I've never seen her do before, and they have had millions of people coming and going to the house (they've never had visitors before that I've noticed) including a nurse who walked to the car with the wife deep in conversation.
Makes me wonder if he's been taken ill.

Anyway, have been over to see the kittens again, only we couldnt find them! The cat has moved them, and it took us ages to find them - we looked everywhere, until eventually DH decided they must be under the chest of drawers. From the front it doesnt look like there is any space under there, but the cat managed to get in the back somehow and put her babies under there! DH managed to get a glimpse of little eyes looking at him when he peered through a little crack in the wood. It's impossible to see them properly without moving the furniture. We just have to hope the mummy cat is doing a good job and she has been so far, so I'm sure it's all fine! I've let my friend know and she said her cat always hides in there when she's hoovering and when she comes back she will take the bottom drawer out so she can keep an eye on them.

Well I have failed miserably this week - took on a 2nd job and although getting more money to deal with debts, I'm left with less time to do housework etc. I will get more organised, might just take me a bit longer, ha!
