and kaz - I don't have any advice really, I know you've had an ongoing battle with her over it. Hope you work something out though.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

My NDNs are having a clearout and offered me their old barbie as they have a fancy stone one now...and I thought of the faff of getting the stuff in, cooking, prepping, washing up and the mess and I declined their offer...
The kids would be gutted they'd love one - but I don't need to become a slave to yet another gadget/gimmick!

Evening everyone.
Even though there is a breeze here its red hot. I took mum to the park which she really enjoyed and kept saying lovely. Then went to DDs and had a cuppa with her. The swelling has not gone down completely on her leg and Ive told her to see her doctor.
I walked across to the lake and Im pleased I remembered to carry some water. I spent quite a bit of time on a seat watching the swans. I call times like that food for the soul. I love the country side and water.
Have not done as much flying as I intended but figured sitting by the lake more beneficial. I have changed the bed and done one load of washing though and S&Sed the kitchen and bathroom.
greenbee I know what you mean about living somewhere and just discovering the country side nearby. The Country park and lake is only 15 minutes walk from here. Tomorrow will be fine with me for the Toots experiment. I think the evening would be better. I have heard of this being done before.
Soappie I can not remember if I said it or thought I had but Im glad you had a lovely holiday and welcome back.0 -
RIght living room number 1 is all done except waiting for the cushion covers and throws to dry and go back on.
DS is harping for food and wondered where the roast potatoes are when I'd suggested having the meats cold with salad and potato
Valli we have a gas barbie but our old one is in the garage and when I clear the front jungle I am going to paint it a nice bright colour, fill it with compost and put trailing flowers in it
rach enjoy the pub, I think I'll join soappie in the garden but with a bottle of bucks fizz (cheap date me)
Pigpen - all I can say is I'm glad DS does his own room. Hope your DS, girlfriend and baby Jacob are doing well, you must miss him even tho I know you had your differences.
After all your stories it seems as if my DD is normal after all and I think I'll continue to let her get on with it so long as she keeps the door closed. DS though has devised a set of rules for her and the living room - "you're not coming in if youre not clean, you cant be carrying anything or have anything in your pockets and there has to be a person in the room to make sure you dont touch anything" :rotfl:
Am threatening to order a new suite tomorrow as sick of washing our filthy sofa and OH is away, so I have until Tues pmDS says I should wait until OH is home!
Right food calls - thanks for a lovely day so far ladies
PS your day sounds lovely boddy and I'm glad mum enjoyed being taken out. I too love to sit by the water, we're off to a caravan park next week that has steps down onto the beach so will lots of early morning/late evening walks with the doogie. Hope DD gets sorted soon.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Just back in from a fantastic day. It was my nieces christening today and she was such a good girl.
Her dress was really long and full and very old fashioned and she looked gorgeous. My brother said she looked like a mini merangue.
The vicar was great he got ds giving out the service cards and then collecting them up he thought it was great.
The buffet at the cricket club was so nice. Lunch and an hour or two watching cricket in the sun what more could you ask for.
Ok i have caught up on the thread and have updated all the stars.
I am going to cook tea and then i will say a big thank you to you all. I have really enjoyed doing the stars this week and i am glad you have all worked hard for your dancing bananas.
I am handing the stargiving back to the wonderful Toots.
It has been a great distraction this week and it was just what i needed it kept me sat on my bum instead of wanting to fly fly fly. It has been really really difficult not to do any flying as when i see a mess i feel the need to tidy up. The newness has worn off with dh and mum and they are not as helpful. DH thinks you only hoover once a week. I am sure he thinks the fairies come in!!.
I am hoping it is going to be nice tomorrow as i am having a sky + fitted and have got lots of washing to do.
I have done a load of washing but my ndn's on both sides are having a bbq so that is not going on the line .
Back laters to catch up on the stars.

Glad you had a lovely day today Quilli, and it couldn't have been nicer weather if it's been as hot as it has down here.
Thank you for doing the stars this week - looking forward to seeing my little dancing banana in a minute as I managed to do all 5 lists this week, and nearly even all of the weekend one too. *shines halo*
Have tried to stay out of the sun today as it really affects me now, and I didn't want to end up as a lobster with a headache. Just popped into town briefly to look around M&S and have hung out a couple of loads of washing.
Managed to freecycle a couple of bits that have been lying around the place, and hopefully have someone collecting some more bits and pieces for a cystic fybrosis charity stall tomorrow.
Right, off to read a bit more of my book I think. Don't have the energy or inclination to wash the car now, so may wait until OH is about tomorrow to help me as I can't reach the roof cos I'm too small.
Will check back in later.
Hugs to all who need or want them, and congratulations where appropriate.

sexy - the roof is the only bit of my car which doesn't shine! I'm 5" 1' and bump got in the way! Still it looks clean enough. Hope to get enough sorting done tomorrow so I can start flying as well.
I am just making tea and a sausage casserole to freeze then going to relax tonight so I have lots of energy for tomorrow!!
I'll be up for lots of HHC tomorrow if anyone else is - only way I seem to get anything done!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
