Boddy - glad you had a good day with your Mum and she enjoyed herself and then your time by the lake. You're right about taking time out for soul food. I watered the garden and then just sat out there for a bit listening to the birds in the trees, the swallows, swifts and house martins calling to each other as they swopped about catching flies and generally watching the wildlife in the garden. There were about a dozen buff tailed bees gorging themselves on the flowers on the cotton easter plant and I spotted several snails which I ought to pick up and toss over the fence but I couldn't be bothered.
Sometimes you need to just sit and stare and open your eyes to what's actually going on around in our beautiful wildlife world.
Gawd, I'm getting philosophical now! Time to peel some spuds and make batter for yorkshires....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Evening all
Pottered around for most of the day; did a bit of hand sewing, sorted out a box of bits, tidied the garage a bit.
OH has put the new roller blind up in the kitchen (no blind since I decorated last August). It looks quite nice but the test will be when it is dark and down tonight.
Plan for tomorrow is paperwork and the piles in the family room. I really want to get it clear and as OH is taking the boys to Lords I should have time. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Quillion!! 5th star and a banana please!!
Wonderful Wednesday - childrens/spare rooms (this can be a second reception room or another room but do try to complete something!) Done!!:D:D:D
Level One
Level Two
Level Three
The boys will do their room during the week, although I'm happy to do the bedclothes, clothes, and vacuuming, I'm not going to sort through all the stuff on the floor - they've been clearing out a cupboard to find stuff for ebay - very commendable if only they didn't abandon it half way through and leave it...
valli - loved your post last night.
boddy - I know just what you mean about time like that. I try and sit in my garden every chance I get for much the same reason. Your mum sounds very happy today. Glad your DD has had better news about her leg - have they decided exactly what it was?
quillion - you sound like you have had a lovely day! My DD also went to a christening today. Thank you for doing the stars, really appreciate it!
tootti - I'm positive I read somewhere (probably on the American site) that FLYlady stands for First Love Yourself, which while it may be a little sick-making, isn't really that bad an idea. At the moment you may very well not have the energy to achieve something you really want, but you can always break it up into little tiny steps and do a little bit when you can - if you really want to. Love and hugs.
I've been gardening almost all day, and I'm exhausted! DS2 and I barrowed compost, prepared a bed, sowed carrots (12 rows, three varieties!), mowed the paths, and started some more weeding. Then after lunch, I zipped out to my favourite nursery, managed to come out with just one small pack of white begonias (wow, I deserve a dancing banana just for showing so much restraint!!) and planted up the tub by thr front door, then flyladied the whole of the porch area had to stop pruning back an overgrown climber though, when a female blackbird shot out, and sat on top of my car until I left!
:hello:Hi vivw, enjoy halfterm!
Also :hello:to sexymouse - you've done a lot today, and so has rach - congratulations on the new job!:j:beer::j:T:T:T

Soappie, have you ever seen that gardening programme with Nick Knowles where they come in and turn a mess into a wildlife retreat? It's really cool and they put cameras around the garden after and you see all the wildlife and what they get up to in the garden - they did a badger set in one, it was cool!
Hi all, sorry I've been MIA but I have been trying to keep on top of everything, not really succeeded though and am tidying up today! Still have a wardrobe to put up in DD's room so am just going to do that now. Watched F1 today (Yay Jenson!:j) and have generally gone between lazing around and doing my bedroom and the washing (full line at the moment) but the rest of the house is a mess.
Not managed to catch up at all, but have seen that Toots is back, all be it gently, and then I saw reference to this and had to check it out....
what a day  BUT we have accepted an offer on our house :j:D:T:j:D:T:j
and 'only' 5k under asking price so that's really good going in the current market!!!

No, I haven't - sounds interesting. My garden isn't a mess but isn't manicured and pristine either. There is an enormous pile of pine needles under the laurel hedge which I refuse to move because that's where hedgehog hibernates and nurtures her babies each year.
The mint stays (although I try to keep it under control) because the cutest, tiniest little mint moth comes every year to live on it.
One year, an enormous teasel grew out of nowhere (must have been 6 foot high at least!) but I kept it there and let it live its life out - the amount of bee activity on it when it was in flower phenomenalI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Serena. They did not know what was wrong with her leg. Ive told her to keep a close eye on it. I really think it should have been followed up.0

And no, I'm not going for a run - wanted to separate good from bad.
NN just phoned. When we got back yesterday and were unloading the car, a neighbour from across the road came over and told us about the ambulances that were called for next door but one (NN's neighbour) and the one beyond that within the same ten minutes. We knew that the old boy (83ish) beyond NN's neighbour was OK and is now staying with his son who lives in a house just round the corner. But we didn't know about next door but one. He's a retired pub landlord with a slightly younger wife and has had heart surgery in the past.
Seems he was taken out of the house with an oxygen mask on. Tonight, all the curtains and blinds in the house are closed. Even blinds which are never normally closed. As they are Londoners, we are fearing the worst - that's the sort of tradition that happens when someone dies.
Ahhh me - he was an OK bloke...I'll just have to get the local paper every day and watch the deaths....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hi everyone
Been an extremely busy day here, church this morning and then straight onto fence demolition and new fence erectingwith Mum and Dad's help. Miss A & W played with the boy from 2 doors down. There has not been a cloud in the sky all day, the fence looks fantastic, just the one at the back to do now!
Miss A and W are currently in the bath with with a 'bomb bath' :rotfl: invert for the correct term! Just caught up on the thread and about to find something for dinner before collapsing in a heap.
Just want to say thanks for all the posts about our anniversary, they did make me cry but in a good way. It was bloomin' hard, I could not stop the 'at this time I/we were doing this' thought process but I got through it.
Sounds like quite a few have had very productive day's today, hi 5's all round
Congrats on 400th post Valli
Kazm my bedroom as a teen are horrendous which I didblame my mum for as when I did try to sort it out she would still find fault with it so in the end I gave up as it was never going to be good enough. This is also a major factor in me being the natuarally messy person I am now (plus I was SO not interested in anything for months after DH died) and the dot to dot approach I am taking to get more organised! I am determined not be a whinging mum with Miss A and W over their room's (which do leave a lot to be desired at the mo!) perferring to praise the good and over look the bad (no matter how small the god or how large the bad!)
Right better retrieve the wrinkled 2 from the bath and get some dinner!Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0
