I think you will find that it is an acceptable alternative spelling, but I don't presume to have perfect spelling, but I do get annoyed in an inability to understand origins of grammar - however I would never pick any particular individual up specifically!0

This thread is rapidly becoming very pedantic. A child is your child for life be they in futher or higher education, we should support our families - however as the government themselves insist on taking parental income into account up to the age of say 24 in the case of medical students then parents are going to be actively involved in their 'children's' finances well past an accepted age0

I understand the origins of grammar extremely well, as I thought you did, given what your signature says!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

my point is that you seem to have been hoist by your own petard!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
How exactly Noel, please share because you think that I can't spell deductable? If you google it I think that you will find it is an acceptable alternative spelling. However I am no Lynne Truss, would of and would 'ave are just a personal thing that annoys me. Obviously you think that you are in the right room for an argument, and have taken against my sig whilst saying that you agree.
As I have said I do not profess to have perfect spelling - infact quite the opposite, origins of grammar and spelling are not the same bomb. I would have thought that a pedant would have quoted the phrase correctly,
Hoist with his own petar - not by or petard! not much use as a put down if misquoted is it!
BACK ON TOPIC Would wonder how your son and nephew's friend managed to get EMA whilst still at school as it is for the further education, not secondary.0 -
Is it really for anyone else to say what we should or should not do for our own kids?Oldernotwiser wrote: »Further education yes, but we're discussing higher education.:jWeight loss slimming world Starting weight 12st 2lbs. Target 10 st -4 -1 sts -1/2 -2 1/20 -

In some cases, for the sake of the kids, yes. If that wasn't the case there wouldn't be child protection charities etc.etc.etc.0 -
I totally see your point on that score as i work with teenagers that have issues. I meant kids going to uni and the parents role with that.In some cases, for the sake of the kids, yes.
