Hey lunar, how did the in-laws visit go? Did you manage to master the samosas?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

The in-laws are not here yet, I have just under 3 weeks to get the house into a respectable state for guests! I will master those somosas when they get here though.
Its been a bit of an odd month, we ended up getting the new boiler installed and some new roof insulation so that was £2000 spent form our saving pot, I got the £400 scrappage money which made it just about affordable. Hopefully I will see a difference in our gas bill this month.
In other news I have lost a stone this year and am not really on a diet so it has felt really easy so far. when I have been on diets before it has always been about depriving myself of things I love, counting calories and drinking water! Well I always managed fine for a week then got sick of it and gave up. I am eating 3 normal meals a day and snacks if I want them. I am just making sure to drink lots and eat slowly which seems to have reduced my portions without leaving me hungry.
I tried the paul mckenna thing with the book, CD's and the tapping thing really hoping that would work but it just made me think about food more! maybe I just didnt get it.
I am really hoping to get to a healthy weight as it can only help in trying to get pregnant again.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
The weight thing seems to be working for you, and sounds like a very healthy way of doing things. I've just scoffed a doughnut, so I haven't quite got to grips with the sensible way of doing things
We had a new boiler fitted about 4 years ago, and it def made a difference to our bills, and has not given us any problems since we had it fitted. It was expensive, but worth it!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hypno, you made me go buy morrisons jam donoughts! its all your fault I have no will power. I did only eat one out of a five pack though so that is some progress!
Penguin, what happned to your boiler?
SH, there will be no overpayments for 2 months now and we wont be doing any overtime. We have £2500 in savings so we are hoping that will cover things. We will be careful with money but we wont scrimp on things we want to do while they are here so may end up using the credit card a little towards the end of there stay.
Just updated my sig, we wont be debt free for my 30th but I am not too dissapointed as we didn't include buying a house in that equation. I will be looking forward to getting under the 10k mark though!DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0
