Thank you all for the continued support, things feel like they are returning to normal at home now. DS is keeping me busy, I can't believe how fast he is growing up.

we have managed 15 no spend days so far this month, mostly because of the snow to be honest.

I decided I need a hobby and while I was in tesco the other day I picked up grow your own magazine. At first I thoughtit would be a very MSE hobby but after a trip to wilkinson it looks like it could cost a fair bit in the first year! I did grow lots of christmas cropping potatoes last year with great results, they taste loads better than shop bought ones and I still have lots left.

hi lunar - good luck with your new hobby - grow your own is the latest thing! Glad DS is keeping you busy. My DD has just started doing gymnastics after school - just a short course - apparently she is good at cartwheels already - I am not sure I ever mastered them - so am so proud of her LOL!

I remember cartwheels, and standing on my head. Those days are definatly behind me now. I take DS to a tumble tots type thing which he loves, it moves onto gymnastics when they are a bit older i think. She will be doing handstands next, i never did manage them!

She was the first out of her and DS to ever manage to win anything at sports day - me and her nan nearly fell off our chairs. I was always one of the last so had no expectations of her and barely watched the race! It makes me doublely pleased she is interested.

I think that schools are much better with pe than they were in our day. My DS fell and hurt himself at the weekend and I thought he would try and get out of PE but no - he was doing trampoling on a professional sized trampoline so was perfectly happy to go for it.

I tell myself regularly that my kids are not the same as me - they are their own people - but they still manage to surprise me sometimes - particularly when they are good at or interested in something I am not.

Enjoy watching your DS at tumbletots - great exercise and fun I would have thought!

Hi Lunar, glad to hear you are doing well and well done on all those no spend days!

Let me know how the growing goes, I am desperate to have a go at it but last years efforts at growing seeds saw me lovingly tend to a flower that later turned out to be a dandelion! I clearly dont have naturally green fingers! xx

We have been throwing everything at the debts recently, I have been cooking everything in batches from scratch, walking instead of the bus and not spending anything we dont have to. OH's parents will be coming over for 2 months at the end of march. It will mean OH wont be doing overtime and we will be taking lots of expensive trips, meals out etc.

We have £3000 in savings to cover their time here but £1000 of that will be for the flights. We will be going to london for 4 nights, we need to decide what else to do while they are here.
