The OH ( A diabetic ) makes a jelly using two packets of sugar free Jelly, with one pint of hot water.
Then adds one tin of evaporated milk and makes the total up to two pints.
Pours it into six separate dishes and has a supply of deserts.
You could make the same with normal jelly.
I can recomend it.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
.
Also - if you add a 2 teaspoons sugar and whisk it up, tastes fab, goes bit like posh thick cream.

but you must have had the tin of evap in the fridge for 12-24 hrs first or it won't hold the air and stay whipped.
You can make a jelly with half the water, allow to cool to slop then whisk this with the cold evap, moussey yummyness especially with chocolate sprinkles0 -
Add a can of evap to milk to make up the required quantity.............makes a divine rice pudding!0

Try it on porridge (Scotts of course) with some normal milk.
If you are feeling particularly indulgent use demerara sugar and a teaspoon of golden syrup instead of white sugar"It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

As well as all the suggestions above, I have used it to make sugar-free icecream with splenda, rather than ultra sweet condensed milk.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

When I was a child my mum used to make something we called "elephant's breath"! A kind of mousse made from whipped evaporated milk and a blackcurrant or raspberry jelly, possibly made up with less water ? No idea where the name came from. She also used to make us hot chocolate with water (like making instant coffee) and then add a glug of evaporated milk to that as a treat instead of ordinary milk.Jan 2011 GC £300/£150.79 (2 adults, 2 teens, working dog, includes food/cleaning/toiletries)0
