Presumably, tho' this would appear when going through a normal till and alert the SA to the incorrect price.

Solution: Go for a store with self scanners if you can and ignore the warning LOL!

The difficulty with that I imagine is that you were wanred and decided to go ahead and they could say that was your decision instead of waiting as asked. I know when I had an R+R on meat not long back there were keen to know what till I went through and was it a self scan and I suspected from that they were going to say I knew the price due to the self scanning. I never use a self scan till at all as I want it to be a Tesco Employee who scans and then takes my money to comply exactly with the "in the unlikely even you are charged ......... " as opposed to anything else they might say like, what Ii choose to pay ......

HIstorically IMHO has been In My Humble Opinion. IMNSHO = In My Not So Humble Opinion.

Well I just went to Bedford Tesco to try and find some of the misprices on the misprice thread but alas nothing was found :( I did however note that the Edam SEL was missing, looks like I was beaten to it

Usually there is a member of staff on checkouts as well as a duty manager.
  • I can't believe the edam is still wrong after all this time, had two lots from different stores this week . Wish it was a nice mature cheddar though.

Well, it's now more than 48 hours since the Security Manager spoke to me and I have not had the promised call.

It's off to Head Office now with a formal complaint.

    Odd.

I made a complaint to one of the managers there only yesterday, after a staff member on CS told me she doesn't get paid enough to deal with my query, then proceeded to tell me to wait for a manager. I wasn't getting a refund, I wanted to buy something that didn't have a price on it, or a SEL!
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

There was I thinking how good of Tesco to trust the customer and save on checkout staff. Er...no.

Over the last few days computer screens have sprung up with a SA seated behind each self scanner aisle, who watches each item being checked out displayed on their screen at the same time as yours.

With defective detectives following innocent shoppers, and Big Brother SA's. perhaps Tesco suffers from corporate paranoia, fearful lest anything might come between them and their massive profits.
