For anyone with a guilty conscience about getting R&R's, I've just been to Tesco's (N.I.) and noticed my bill was larger than expected. Turned out I had been charged three times for one bottle of wine. CS couldn't apologise enough and told me the checkout operator had done me a favour as I was getting them all refunded and I would get to keep the bottle of wine!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:
  • Anyone know what happens if you need to visit customer services after 10 o'clock when the lights are on but there's nobody home ? don't want to have to go back the next day .

In my experience after 10PM there is usually a checkout supervisor or duty manager who *can* do an R&R for you.

However with about 2 tills open, huge queues, the checkout supervisor disappearing about 2 hours before and the duty manager mainly concerned with shelf stocking with very tired employees IMHO it isn't worth the pain of attempting an R&R unless it's a high value item and you don't need to go to bed before midnight!

    YMMV - Rufus.

Going back to the twin pack of gammon steaks (unsmoked), SEL £2.53, price on pack £2.98.

I went to get a couple of packs in a certain north west store that has self scanning checkouts and when I rang them through, a warning came up on the screen - "There is a problem with this item, please wait for a customer service assistant". Well, I ignored that and carried on and rang the other pack through and the rest of my shopping. By the time the SA had come to "my aid" and asked what was wrong, I said nothing it's going fine.

But I just thought, I wonder if that store has put a warning on the gammon, after reading about it on here? Why not just remove the SEL?

Presumably, tho' this would appear when going through a normal till and alert the SA to the incorrect price.

Solution: Go for a store with self scanners if you can and ignore the warning LOL!
