He was talking rubbish. I got 6 cases / £85 R+R'd of beer through this. Cheers :beer:

Hi to all.
I have a problem with my local stores, a few months ago i would get a coulple of r & r's a month, it was my way of trying to get tesco to sort out there price integraty, anyway i began to get noticed by all the cs staff and managers, i know from a local tesco insider that my description and my club card details were sent to all local stores and they were told to look out for me, thats when the trouble started!
One day i was getting a big refund, on about 6 cd's, after a big row with the manager of that dept, he got really angry and informed me that the self scanners were going to break that day which would stop me taking the p..s out of tesco.
Now all my local stores have taken them out, or have in some way stopped them working, and im really really angry about it, can anyone help me out, what action can i take?

Unless you are looking to draw attention to yourself its best not to R&R 6 cds in one go, R&R works best long term if you vary the stores and staff you go to and don't take the mick by buying multiple prducts in one transaction. I am in favour of R&R as I have benefitted from it but you need to use commonsense, continually R&R in the same store for large amounts and they will get wise to you.

ridgeback - sounds like you've been had. For a start, the beer offer was TWO cases for £20. Therefore, you HAVE to make a multiple purchase to get them cheaper!!

I had 2 cases in one store and 4 in another on this offer, r&r'd in full, no problem (although used my clubcard on 1st one and they were the only one that wanted my name and address to give refund).

The 3rd store I visited didn't have the 2 for £20 offer sign displayed, but did have a sign saying that 20x300ml carlsberg were £10.98. I bought 4 cases there (so a definite multiple purchase) and was offered only the difference in price paid (as the sign refered to a 'different lot of carlsberg, not the ones on shelf!?).
I stood my ground & waited for the duty manager, who agreed that I was entitled to a full r&r.

I do usually only have one or two r & r's at any time and i space them out over weeks, the reason for the 6 cd's was the day before i went into the store and pointed the misprice out to a cs, i also pointed out some mispriced beef joints which i left there, if they cant sort it after that i think they deserve all they get.

In every subsequent store i have checked in the area (quit a few) they all have bee £99.97.
If memory serves correctly im sure the store i got mine from displayed the PS2 at £99.97 a few weeks earlier.
I think this was just sheer luck.
Keep trying though you never know.

I was not saying that R&R is wrong, its Tesco policy and I think go for it, but you have to bide your time and if you don't want to draw unwanted attention to your R&R take it easy. Play the long game, still beat them in the end, it kills me to leave an R&R if I spot one but I'd rather do this occasionally and then when I see a fairly biggie like the TV £99 last week they don't make a fuss and now I keep my head down in that store for a while.

I bought a Finest Silverside joint with a price label higher than the SEL. The CS tried to say it was a different product as the pack said Silverside Joint and the SEL said Silverside Roast - but another staff member backed me up, said it WAS the same product and, if it wasn't then it was just totally confusing for everyone. They gave me a refund with good grace. I'm very new to this - do they usually split hairs to this degree ? They also argued last week (but finally gave in to keep me quiet) over Healthy Living Chicken fillets - the SEL was a different bar code number but the description was exactly the same. Surely customers only look at the price and description - the tiny print on the bar code is hardly visible. Should I be checking the bar code or is the description sufficient ?
