Just called Tesco HO about another problem in Slough Extra. Charged higher of two displayed prices, and only offered difference.
On a positive note though, they have fixed their scanner now, which implies that it isn't in fact a global conspiracy against us.......0 -

Here is the key. How much money do the scanguides make for Tesco? Now how much money does a till make? If you were Tesco which of those two would you spend alot of money maintaining?0 -

Quite correct. Also consider that the tills are used by employees who, on the whole, use the things properly and with a bit of respect. On the other hand, the scanguides are used by customers who will generally do anything to the things up to and including ripping them off the wall!0 -

!!!!!!, the scan guides it isnt a mass conspiracy to stop people checking the prices of products in the chance that we may find one that is misspriced and get the prodct for free. the things are for anyone to use people are in the store pushing trollys kids play with them people walk in to them. they break the system that runs them crashes it isnt a big deal to the store if these things work or not they were provided as a service ages ago and are begining to come to the end of their lives. it is annoying when they dont work but jsut take the item to a checkout and ask them to check the price or to CS it does look strange though when you go with it asking for a refund.
The next topic of descusion?
ohh yeah it will be the removal of the "if things dont add up policy" then the bad CS/managers and back to the scan guides. We go through the same few topics every 2-3 weeks things go so far and get nasty the thread is closed and we start again.0 -

My local Tesco still had the 'beer' signs up..Expire 17/04...2 for £20.
I got the Carlsberg Lager and Dry Blackthorn Cider.. No discount came off!
In total I paid £24.97, I only got offer of refund of the difference of £4.97 (which I took!), CS man said that the policy has change with multiple purchase discounts, and full R+R is only offered on single item misprices. I feel he may have been talking rubbish, did argue the point for 3 mins, but was very tired after a long shop. Wish I had argued the point more now!! Expired offer signs removed by CS.0 -
He was indeed talking rubbish, if you have been overcharged you are entitled to R&R.0
