One of these is screwing suppliers even more - others include screwing the customers and staff...
Kind of reminds me when Tescos announced their huge profits last year. To celebrate this great achievement, they gave all their staff... a free canteen meal.
Must have been a real incentive to it's staff to work even harder the following year. What a joke eh.0 -
CS today were very nice.
I picked up pork shoulder joint SEl lower than price on pack. Anyway she came back to say that the SEL was for a slightly different product and the product was in the wrong place. I just smiled and said I see. She phoned for manager to OK the refund for pork. No manager materialised so she said "oh you've been waiting long enough! Here have the refund!" Also got a refund on some birthday candles which she also wasn't sure if SEL applied too!0 -
I just returned from a very eventful trip to tesco. I picked up 2 Carlsberg Export 20x300ml. The Carlsberg Export had a big offer in front stating it was 14.55, however there was still a sign in front of the Becks saying the Carlsberg Export was part of the 2 for 20 offer.
Total r&r of 29.10 and 40 bottles of beer. I think my partner will be well chuffed when he returns!

Both mis-priced but snotty CS said it only applied to the packs that already had the discounted stickers on.
Did not have time to argue as had to go and was kept waiting 20 mins anyway.
What should have been my arguement if I had stayed? That the sel did not state stickered packs only.
Yes, you really have to stand your ground with this one. As long as there was an SEL saying for example £1.50 per kg and your chicken said £1.70 per kg, you're in line for a refund. You should have been charged the lower of any prices shown. The SEL usually states fairly clearly which product it applies to eg. 500g Finest chicken breast.
I do find these ones harder to argue, than a CD or book with a wrong sticker on, but plenty of people seem to have lots of success with meat and cheeses being overcharged and I did manage to get a refund on 3 Finest cheeses last week, despite making the SA check 3 times till I got through to him what I meant!

Beer all priced correctly in my store and the El passo pack seemed to throw a message up on the till for her to check the price so no refunds for me.0

hi Ive got a big problem.
i bought yesterday the Panasonic microwave sel 49.97 charged 59.97 offer did not finish until end 19.4.06 also bought a v3 mobile offer still on shelves at electrical desk spend £40 and get £20 off a v3 razor phone on tesco mobile.
i bought a few other items like milk and frozen food. i had gone into the shop at 11. 30pm.
paid for the items while somebody went to fetch the phone told the person on the till that the prices were different to what the signs had said.
duty manager was fetched and told me the offers were now out of date and that the price on my till receipt was correct. mind u after waiting for him it was now 12.00am the microwave offer had just finished . i told him about the policy on the wall in front of him. he said it did not apply as the offers had finished but i said the microwave one was valid when i bought it. he then told me he was going to withdraw the items off me and told to leave the store. i managed to grab my receipt from customer services desk as i was escorted off the premises without a refund and my goods. i am now £170 missing from my wallet and with a receipt for items i have bought but haven't got. i am in shock Ive been robbed by a a duty manager of my cash. also am going to the police to seek advice .
anyone got the customer services number in Dundee so i can get my money back or the items Ive paid for. im worried that he will try to cover up his mistake and take the cash as a refund himself even though nothing is on my receipt for being refunded.i don't half love a freebie0 -
I think my mouth just hit the floor in astonishment. On every level the duty manager has broken company policy and not least the law.
I think a staged approach makes sense. Try customer services in Dundee, given them 1 hour to respond. Tell them that as they have broken the law, if you have not been given your money back within that hour you will engage with Trading Standards and possibly the police to report this theft.
Second of all persue the company policy that spells in blue and white, that if you were charged more than the SEL - whatever the time of flipping day, you are entiled to R&R.
Good luck. This is shocking. Actually call your local press as well, sounds like a good piece for them. Did you get the duty manager name?0
