I thought that might be the case. Just not sure as the SEL was stating a saving of more than you would actually receive.
Didn't even try in the end as I thought I'd end up looking like an !!!!!!.

Never encountered it myself but I think it would be pushing just about any CS staff to claim an r & r when you have been charged correctly.

(Edit - Strike correctly, charged the correct total price)
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • the finest promotion ends today but I got several misprices because of the fact that they had already restocked the shelves with pack of goods with the new prices.

I am aware that when Tesco's do BOGOF offers (particularly on fruit and vegetables), the free one is funded by the farmer or supplier. I'm also aware that when you take products back because they are off or rotten, the famrer/supplier is forced to foot the bill. Do Tesco's force them to pay for misprices as well? I only ask because, while I am a fan of R + R, I don't want to be ripping off some small farmer who relies on Tesco's buying his/her produce by claiming an r + r. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Tesco couldn't make any farmer or supplier directly foot the bill for an overcharge as it is their mistake. There is however the thinking of the business as a whole, every penny that Tesco loses (by any means) they will look to make up somewhere else, as well as constantly trying to increase profits. One of these is screwing suppliers even more - others include screwing the customers and staff...

Regards suppliers having to foot the bill for rotten stuff. I dont see how Tesco can action that. When fresh good come in, the tray will have a sticker on it with supplier info. Tesco use hundreds of different suppliers, so once that apple has been purchased, taken home, and bought back rotten there is no way to trace which supplier it came from?

Im not sure about this one but I just called in to the Prestwich store, there was a bloke holding a Samsung mobile it had an 8 and possibly an E in the number, the T's staff member speaking to him was saying he had been tipped off about somthing possibly a price difference I dont know but I didnt have chance to scour the shelves looking for the phone witht he bloke standing there.

maybe someone could have a look for this phone being mis priced

I noticed this last night,my local store had removed all POS for the finest promotion and I scoured the store to find just one bit of POS but to no avail  I was followed around the store though which was quite amusing, picking goods up with promotional advertising, putting them in basket, wonder round store and put them back, there was a few bits of POS that went 'missing' if you know what I mean :rotfl:
    Tuck Fescos ;)
  • Can I clarify this before I go and make a fool of myself as Im a little confused after reading the various Tesco threads:

I can get an r+r if:

The price on the shelf states 50p. The price on the box states £1. The items scans at £1. The receipt shows £1.

Tried to get R&R on chicken breasts and whole chicken yesterday.
Both mis-priced but snotty CS said it only applied to the packs that already had the discounted stickers on.
Did not have time to argue as had to go and was kept waiting 20 mins anyway.
What should have been my arguement if I had stayed? That the sel did not state stickered packs only.

If the SEL says a cheaper price you should have got R&R, I have in the past in similar circumstances. The problem is that CS is inconsistant from store to store.

    Correct.

Or if the SEL (shelf edge label) says £1, the price marked on the item is 50p and you are then charged £1 at the till. If there are multiple prices, and they don't charge you the lowest one, you are entitled to R+R.
