tbw wrote:I'm probably being dense but I can't get my head around the yellow and white labels especially on Finest products. I get the impression that people think that all the special offers will have a yellow label with the before and after prices. But some Finest foods have the old type white labels and no sign of any price reductions. Both my local stores insist that ALL Finest products have been reduced already and the price shown reflects the 20% - whatever colour the label is and whether or not the reduction is mentioned.
I've been told (by a manager) that its all a question of trust and I have to trust Tesco to get it right ! Well I don't feel that trusting - I really don't see how the customer can be expected to know its been reduced if we don't know the before and after prices. And Tesco can't tell me what the price was before the reduction which makes me suspicious that the price hasn't actually changed.
I feel that an email to HO wouldn't go a miss, asking them to confirm the prices, both before and after the 20%. Trust and Tesco aren't words that go together in my book!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Best excuse for denying an R&R goes to the customer service lady at my local Tescos.
I did my weekly shop this morning and after paying checked my receipt and saw I'd been overcharged by £2.20 a pound on a joint of beef. So I toddle off to the CS desk and say, I've probably got this wrong, but this beef was marked at a lower price on the SEL. Lady says she'll go and check, and I follow. When we get to the beef, yep, I've been overcharged clearly.
However CS lady says, oh no that's not an overcharge they are different products, I can't see any difference and say so politely. She then points the difference out to me, they have different barcodes she says !!! LOL LOL
Luckily for me common sense prevailed and she double checked and yep it was an overprice, so I got a full refund and kept the beef !0 -
In my experience of white/yellow SEL's on the Finest products , last week I picked up half dozen different items with only white SEL's. Out of those, 2 went through with a reduction at the till and the others went through at shelf price and my money was refunded no problem on these. Perhaps there has been so much kerfuffle with these Finest products, because there are so many of them, that Company line is now to tell the customer that the discount has been applied. But like you I would like to see the 'before discount' price somewhere to assure me I am paying the right price.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

Does anyone know when the Tesco Finest products sale ends (20% off), or perhaps if it already has?
Thanks in advance0 -

Any new offers coming?
Not fussy but would like some good extra points instore like the ipod offer.0 -
Can anyone explain where we would stand with this one?
Pampers nappies are on offer. Original price £8.98. Offer is two for £16.00 (save £1.96). Nappies actually go through at £8.96 each... two for £16.00, but only a saving of £1.92.
Are you being overcharged if you are not saving as much as the SEL claims? And if so are you entitled to R&R?0 -

I would have thought you cannot get an R & R on this as the offer is 2 for £16.00 and that is what you are paying.
The R & R applies if you are overcharged and as the offer has been applied correctly you have not been overcharged.
R & R only kicks in if the offer is not applied, regardless of individual price per item you are getting 2 items for the offer price of £16.00.
Maybe someone with a little more experience will confirm the situationThanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
I thought that might be the case. Just not sure as the SEL was stating a saving of more than you would actually receive.
Didn't even try in the end as I thought I'd end up looking like an !!!!!!.0
