How's this then
I went into the Wolverton Store this morning to try for the Sudocrem R+R but guess what - all their customer scanners are broken - hmm i wonder why??
anyway whilst I was in there I also remembered I needed some OPF (orange peelable fruit - generic for manadrin/clementine/tangerine) so I satnd there looking at all the various offers and make my choice. THEN I notice that the white SEL says £2.49 but the yellow (special offer) SEL says half price £1.49. Well, I may be a bit fick but even I know 1/2 price of 2.49 is NOT and never will be £1.49! So I spot the section leader for the F&V and say to him "is £1.49 half of £2.49?" "what do you mean?" "well here is the SEL for this product and it says 2.49, and here is the offer SEL and it says half price 1.49, that can't be right can it?" "well, no but when you get to the till you'll be charged 1.49" "urm, but that's not half of 2.49 is it?" "Well no but the prices fluctuate and this must be an old shelf label" he says removing it and putting it in his pocket. I was amazed, at his cheek.
Bottom line is - the offer ISN'T half price it's £1 off - thieving *****s!
Also what's happening to the bread? one minute it's 52p per loaf now it's 48p!just in case you need to know:

All finest meat and cheese in Twickenham store has a yellow sticker with the reduced price on it!0

"Finest" smoked salmon has not been reduced by 20%. Most other items have the yellow sticker on, on the smoked salmon, it has a clear label with 50p off (£3.49 instead of £3.99) - thats not 20%. Stock up on it.(".)0

New notice at CS at Tesco Bury:

I went to Tescos today and saw King Kong PS2 games in a section that wasn't the Top 20 bit, and I'm sure there were about 4 copies, all stickered at £19.93. Anyway, I picked one up, finished the rest of my shopping and went to the till. My store puts out empty game boxes, so my box was handed to a young SA who went off to get the disk, but when he comes back its in a different box - with no sticker. On the receipt it scanned at £19.97, but the SA had ran off with my proof! Anyway, went to CS desk and told them and they said without the box they couldn't do anything. The SA who had been to fetch it was standing there, so I he said he would go and look for it. Surprise surprise he came back and said there were no stickered boxes out the back, any that there were had gone back out on the shelf and they were all correct.
A manager comes over and I explained this to her - 100% definately had a box that was stickered - she said that customers sometimes change the stickers on items (didn't go quite as far as blatantly saying I'D done that, but...) But, as I said there were 4 or 5 copies out, so that meant they weren't fiddled with by customers. And, when you held the box up to the light you could see there was a faint oval mark where a Tesco sticker HAD been. And that didn't answer why the box I had had (whether wrongly stickered by a customer or not) had just disappeared into thin air in the space of a few minutes...)
So, I think they had sussed the misprice between me picking the item up and getting to the till and had taken the rest off the shelf, and then basically implied that I was lieing to get the R & R. In the end, I asked for a refund on the item.
Do you think I should complain?? I'm convinced they pulled a fast one to get out of refunding me the price of the game and I can't recall ever feeling that I was being called a liar and/or hallucinating by a CS before!!0 -
That's fair enough - as I wouldn't like to pick up something that's been out of the chiller/freezer for a prolonged time (and not sure what happened to it in the meantime)
It always p#sses me off when I see someone has left the odd chicken or piece of meat on the shelf with the tins, etc. when they've decided they don't want it. I could see that being returned to it's rightful place in the chiller, and being sold to a customer.0 -
If they did suss it,it could be because you are a "known face".If i am in a store where i have had a few r&rs in the past,i pick up the item i want then always double back after a few minutes to the offending SEL to re- check, only then will i proceed to the checkout.0

Went for R&R on the Edam cheese last week at my local Tescos, Trent Vale. Lady behind Customer Services said they had stopped the R&R due to people taking advantage of this service and that she would only give me the difference. She said they'd taken down all the posters in reference to the R&R - funny thing was that right behind her was the poster on the board! As soon as I pointed this out she said "well I guess you want this free cheese then..", her attitude changed and she was really nowty towards me - heheh.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across this situation, I assume it's not right for them to override a company policy?0 -
Went to Tesco (Bolton) today with my lads & managed to get two copies of Prince of Persia PSP game, SEL £19.94 scanned at £19.97. When we went for a refund we were told that as the over charge was under £1 it didn't count!! I've not heard that one before. As I said "Oh I see" she smirked. When I asked where on the policy behind her it was stated she looked daggers at me & said I could have 6p back. I declined her generous offer & calmly asked instead to speak to the manager.
As he was apparently in a meeting she said that she would authorise the refund on this occasion as there were children involved!
Two kids very happy & quiet! Thanks to the op for this (sorry carn't remember who this was). Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Today in Tescos I was walking around when over the tannoy came an announcement that there was 20% off of clothing, shoes, etc today. I was with my Aunt who was visiting from the USA and we went over the the section and stocked up on T-shirts and other stuff. When I got to the Checkout there was no 20% taken off, so I went to customer services and asked why. This is her EXACT answer "Oh that announcement was a mistake - there isn't 20% or anything off - she put the wrong tape in!!" I ashed why they had not announced a retraction but she just shrugged and said I could have my money back if I wanted. I said that that wasn't good enough and that I wanted my discount or the price policy to apply. She said there was nothing she was prepared to do. I went away and rang the store but got the same CS woman who chased me. I then rang Dundee and they said that they would send me discount vouchers for the 20% off plus a Tesco voucher to the value of another 20% off, but they did not think the price policy applied. What do you think I should do? I am more annoyed by the rude CS assistant than anything.Jane
