The narnia dvd is advertised at my local store at £9 something on a big poster outside but there are no price labels at all in the store, it is scanning at £14 something, would i be able to claim an R&R for this, it says on the poster offer ends 9/4 which is today.

You could try to claim it but the policy states you get a R+R if the price on the shelf or product is incorrect....They could stand up to you with the fact that it is an external poster that is wrong, but should still at least honour the poster price as a minimum.

I got an r&r on the Narnia DVD because it was being promoted on the overhead screen at the lower price.

Interestingly, the phrasing of the overcharge policy on Tesco website doesn't state "shelf or product" so this could equally be quoted.

"In the unlikely event that we overcharge you we will give you your money back and you can keep the product."

Will depend on your store. People in the past have obtained R&R on the basis of billboards outside viewable when driving past the exit. I've had R&R a few times based onthe prices on overhead monitors in the past.

I can't be bothered with it all anymore though, these days all my shopping is online. Far less stress.

Just going through some tesco receipts, and found one from couple of weeks ago when I asked assistant to check price on cot sheets. I decided not to take them but ended up paying £10 for something I didn't buy. Where do I stand on this one?

Take your receipt in and explain what happened.

A work colleague bought a pair of boys trousers amongst other shopping a while back, when she checked the reciept later that day a similar thing had happened to her. The one pair of trousers had been scanned twice.
A call to the phone no. on the receipt resulted in her going back to the store, where CS gave her a full refund of the error - and gave her a pair of boys trousers too. She had no problems with that Tesco.
She was gob-smacked that there were no questions asked, as she expected them to think she was trying it on.
This was way before I'd even heard of R&Rs.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

    needed that.

45+ minutes trying to resolve an overcharge today.

Promotion, 20% off finest products...thought I'd take advantage and buy some nice ham for friend coming for lunch + nice steak for tea.

    BIG MISTAKE.

Ham SEL at 20% off price, packet price not reflecting new price. Charged price on pack not on shelf.

Steak SEL no reduction...I assumed 20% would come off at the till as no evidence whatsoever of 20% reduction on packaging.

At CS the fun begins. poor CS girl going back and forward trying to resolve the issue for me. As 20% off promo says "reductions as priced", the first thing I was told was that they had already been reduced and I'd already paid 20% off...if that's the case, why the lower SEL label on ham? CS girl comes back with answer that SEL is an old promo which happens to be 20% off (and how did I calculate 20% off they asked? Simply done and explained 10% doubled...mmm, I don't carry a calculator with me thanks). So SEL on ham was incorrect, so she went off to check again with duty manager. While she's checking, the SEL team leader comes over saying she's checked the system, the ham SEL is correct but the items haven't been downpriced as the guy who should have done it is off sick.

CS girl comes back saying that ham SEL is old but duty manager has decided "as a gesture of goodwill" (SORRY?????) to give me the ham free. I gave up with the steak in store as too much hassle. Also felt sorry for the CS girl who'd been running back and forth...although getting paranoid about other CS girl starting her sentences with "make sure he knows that..."then whispering. I assume the end of the sentence is something like "... this woman is a serial R+R abuser" Apologies for commiting the crime of checking my receipt against my shopping list.

Anyway, checked steak price online and 20% off price per kg I paid, so just rung HO and explained the situation. They're sending me vouchers to cover steak price after I explained the mixed messages I was getting from the store and how I couldn't endure it again.

Am very tempted to go back mid promotion with steak label and receipt when prices are correct and go ner ner nee ner ner to the whispering CS woman.

Does your c/s desk have a blue cupboard for staff to whisper in? Mine does! The phone is in there and whenever I go to the desk, they stick their head as far into the cupboard as they can to speak to the manager! (Saying something similar I guess)!

Good luck. HO promised me a full refund in very similar circumstances to those you describe. A month later, I'm still waiting.
