janice_mac wrote:Does anyone know if the r and r policy applies to tesco.com?? I had 3 items mispriced last week and theyve just e-mailed me to say that they are refunding the difference, I have sent one back asking about their pricing policy but am yet to hear. On the sheet you get with tesco.com is says check the website for tesco pricing policy but I cant find it
Hi
I'm sure I've read on this thread somewhere that tesco.com just refund the difference when a customer is overcharged. No doubt someone will be along soon who knows more about it than me.0 -
I was overcharged on 2 items last week. I rang and they refunded me the difference, I asked about the R&R policy but was told that was instore. I did say I felt a little let down, after all I had paid to have my shopping picked & delivered and if I had done it myself I would be entitled to a refund. Guy said he would get the store to ring........ a week later I'm still waiting. Oh well..............0

That's correct Dude.
No R&R on-line.
You need to shop in the real world to get some R&R action..........

I have just had the same probs with the Finest 20%, I am sure they take all their customers for idiots!!
I picked up two cheeses that I knew were wrongly priced, the edam quarter stickered at £3.95kg but SEL at a lower price. No probs with this the customer service lady totally agreed it was wrong.
I also had a go at the finest cheese misprice, I picked up one packet of cheese that was sel £1.65 and was clearly not reduced, no evidence of a reduction on the SEL or on the product. Went through till at that price so I took it to customer services. The CS manager then went off to look and returned saying it was correct, I assured her it was not and showed her other products that had yellow reduction labels to show the original price and the 20% off price. She still thought she was right so we found a product that did not have the yellow reduced price to check if it came up as the SEL price which was supposed to show that it had already been reduced, the SEL was £3.95 and it scanned at £3.16 thus proving that the 20% should have been taken off at the till!!! But oh no, this lady then lied to me saying that the SEL did say £3.16!!!!!!! I could not believe it. I went off to check this again as my OH got the refunds for two other items and the finest cheese as I said I did not want it of it was not reduced. I then went back and told her she was wrong and she got all huffy and said Oh well you get the cheese free then don't you, I said thank you, bye and she walked off! Not a happy tescos bunny but a happy me!
I was also charged for 4 packets of breakaways when I only had 2, I expected to be refunded for all 4 because of r and r but was only refunded for 2, is this right? After the problems with the cheese I didn'y really want to get into another argument!0 -
Went to Tesco today and while there picked up the new special edition 2 disc boxed Narnia. Noticed it was priced at £14.97 on the shelf label and that the regular single disc one was only 40p cheaper at £14.57...
anyway, happened to notice the price as it was being scanned, it came up at £16.97.... I didn't say anything cos I'd been lurking on this area for a few days and knew about R&R!
so, off I toddled to the customer services desk and told them that I'd been overcharged for the DVD. the sales assitant scanned the DVD and told me the price was coming up at £16.97 (durr, I knew that....!)! I told her that it was the SEL that was directly underneath the DVDs that said it was £14.97 so she went to check the shelf edge and came back a few minutes later saying there was no price label and I'd been correctly charged at £16.97. I stood my ground and told her that no, she must have removed the label (she went a very very guilty bright red as I said that...!)
anyway, she calls a colleague over who went off to check shelf and was gone for a good 10 minutes. she came back telling me there were clear signs saying it was £16.97. I said she'd been gone so long, she'd probably put them up herself, particularly as her (still) very red colleague had told me there were no prices....!
eventually a supervisor was called who tried to fob me off, but I held my ground. At one point she tried to tell me that customers pick up DVDs and dump them in the wrong area, so I must have picked one of those up, but no, I told her that I'd taken it from a pile of about 20 so I was definitely NOT in the wrong 'section'...
I told her that her staff had 2 conflicting stories and that had they both said the same thing, I'd have agreed it was my error (and I genuinely would have questioned myself!), she also went rather pink and eventually gave me my money back, all of it. although in her words "on this ocassion I'll give you a refund..." and left the sentence hanging in the air!
woo hoo! a near £17 special edition DVD for FREE!!!!!
in short though, if they go off to check the shelf, go with them. I didn't think to do this - I had a trolley full of shopping, plus a toddler and baby on board too! wish I had though, would have saved 20 minutes arguing!0 -
Yeah after reading about all these underhand tactics, I'm now photographic the SEL with my camera and also insisting on assisting when it comes to showing them where the SEL was. I just don't trust them. Still waiting for the response to my enourmous letter of complaint (which contained several years worth of Tesco receipts to prove I wasn't a thief)0

Grrrr to staff who can't calculate 20% easily. Annoying, isn't it?
As for the above, you should only get 2 packets refunded as it's a cashier error, not a system error. I know this is different for different stores, but the general rule is cashier errors are not R+R.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I think she was just trying to baffle me so that I would think she was telling the truth, naughty lady!!bylromarha wrote:As for the above, you should only get 2 packets refunded as it's a cashier error, not a system error. I guessed that was about right and I had no desire to stand there any longer so I didn't bother argueing, thanks for confirming!0 -
Careful boys and girls, I went to checkout thinking I had some nice steal and pork from the finest range as pack price was £1 dearer than SEL but it scanned though at the lower price, I think their wise to this one now, at least on the set price not price per kilo stuff0

The only Finest items that there mispriced in my store was the cheese, all the cheese was wrong as none had been reduced, all the other items scanned at 20% off even if the SEL had not been changed.0
