I'm sure the information you supplied is of interest to some but unfortunately not the answer to the question as posed.
Don't worry anyway you won't spoil the party for us because we all know here........Every little helps!
Actually, if you read the part in bold, the OP says when he adds it to his basket, not when he gets the products. The products have not been paid for nor delivered, you may expect discounts before products are paid for but i am unsure how many others do. Therefore I think you will find that the issue that the OP was looking to clarify was fully answered as he asked what happens afterwards....that is the information that i suppliedspa2k wrote:As outtatheway has stated the discount isnt applied until the products have left the store.
At no point did the op say what happens if you are overcharged when you order online, he asked why the discount was not deducted at the point of adding products to his basket.
To be honest, your tone is rather patronising and condesending. If you would rather i didn't post and left you to your own little pedantic world, please let me know.....Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Key:
orange emboldened = Statement (Indicated by full stop)
Red Underlined = Question (indicated by question mark)
Pedantic enough for you?.,:
As for posting feel free I simply answered the question posed by the op, you felt the need to quote my reply and erroneously correct it, as I have said before you have made some useful posts and I am sure many have benefitted from them, as for me you have no information which is not readilly available to me and I wasn't really aware that it was intended to be so. If you choose to get offended by my posts which clearly aren't offensive there is little I can do about it apart from refraining from posting myself which I do not intend to do.
Just to reiterate for bren, r&r does not apply to Tesco.comFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Which part of the above statement does not answer the question? Please correct me if i am wrong, but where did the OP say that he had recieved the goods and been charged the higher price for the multisaves? The question is future tense not past tense i believe.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Please refer to the key in my post.
Taken from Dictionary dotcom:
Statement. n
- The act of stating or declaring.
- Something stated; a declaration.
-
- An expression of inquiry that invites or calls for a reply.
- An interrogative sentence, phrase, or gesture.
The difference between the two a question specifically calls for a response whilst a statement does not.
I hope that is clear enough for you
Whilst I understand you feel the need to clarify that the discount is not applied to the online order but shown upon presentation of the goods that was not the question, it is useful information but nonetheless unsolicited information. It also assumes the op is not aware of that information, I made no such assumption as I do not have any information available to me to give that indication. The op asked the question = Where do you stand after purchasing from there? note the use of the word "after" when referring to the purchase.
I can recommend a good book on semasiology if you like? {Although presented as a statement the question mark identifies this sentence as question}

Fellas, can we get back on topic?:D
I was pleased to find some free Maltesers at my local small branch today (the one with extra-miserable cashiers & CS). So I thoroughly enjoyed upsetting said miserable CS Lady...she marched off to check the shelf then came back smirking that the offer was £3 for two of the bigger packs only...
Thanks to this thread I was ready for that rubbish, so I kindly escorted her to the shelf and read out the label to her, which she then whisked away and disappeared so quickly that I couldn't tell her that there was another similar SEL at the other end of the shelf. Oh dear, I will have to check if she's still overlooked it another day!!
By the way, Spa2k, surely the Maltesers example shows extra profit for Tesco? The offer is on several types of chocolate (all named on a main SEL) but the offer doesn't work on the Maltesers. The customer HAS paid more than the intended price, surely, if they do not check their receipt?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Butter basted chicken in a bag, SEL £2.99, bag £3.99, scans £3.99.
Refused r&r as "the bag clearly states the price" & "the SEL has a different bar code so does not refer to that chicken".
Argued, phoned HO, but no joy. Others may want to try this one.
.
Just to get in between you boys, although I know you enjoy sparring so much!
Jailhousebabe, all I have to say is Cross Point.
They do everything within their power to resist R+R and you can argue til you're blue in the face and they still won't budge.
I know more learned people will be along telling you that you legally should be charged the lower price when 2 prices are displayed, but they haven't had to go round and round and round in circles with the "I'm right and I'm not listening to you" attitude you get at CS in that store.
After my 50 minute run in at that CS and no adequate response from the manager after 2 letters, hubby suggested I should carry through my threat of writing to the Cov Evening telegraph...what do you think?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

spa2k wrote:The product was clearly labelled incorrectly, the wrong variant of label has been merchandised and the internal checks that are part of putting out every label clearly have not been followed. You are not supposed to check that the barcode matches the product that you buy, it is there for Tesco use not the customers.
My experience today:
Picked up oven-ready butter-basted in-the-bag chicken. SEL (at my eye-level, me being a shorta$$) read £2.99. The bags on the shelf were positioned in a way that I could not possibly have seen the top of the bags, where the price £3.99 was displayed.
Off I trot to cs with my overcharge. I accompanied the cs girl to the shelf, where I was told that, although the label clearly stated butter-basted 1.5kg (the same weight as the chicken I had purchased), the SEL did not relate to that product and that I should have noticed the price on the bag.
I asked her should I always assume then that if I see 2 prices, I should expect to pay the higher one?
Her response was that isn't the case, but in this instance the SEL was clearly not for that product as the bar codes were different. She didn't reply when I asked her how many shoppers check the bar codes for every item they pick up.
I called head office who very promptly called the store in question and called me back, but all they would say is that the store told them the SEL was for a different product and so were in the right to refuse me r&r.
As I expected.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0
